HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Okay, it's tomorrow, but I'm making turkey with all the trimmings today! (That way I can truly rest on my day off tomorrow before I go back to work on Tuesday.)
Here is some info about Canadian Thanksgiving. (I truly wish that it would coincide with the holiday in the USA, which falls next month. It would make things easier in so many ways.)

Typical scenery here at this time of year...except that this past week we have been enjoying summer weather. It doesn't really feel like Fall yet, although some of the trees have changed colour.

And this is how I plan to set my table today. LOL. Except that my wine glasses are aqua in color, not yellow. I do have an orange tablecloth, but I don't have orange cloth napkins, so I'm going to use paper ones with leaves on them (if I can find where I put them last year). I have some nice candles also, but if you think I'm going to put together a centerpiece like that, you are crazy! I have a dish fetish and own several different sets of dinnerware, two of them brown. I'll decide later which set to use for today. As for the food, I am serving turkey breast only, which I bought already sliced off the roast - two of them because we are having 6, possibly 8, people for dinner. I'll make gravy and stuffing from scratch, and open a can of jellied cranberry sauce. For vegetables, I bought a purple cauliflower which I plan to serve with cheese, and some yams which I will do in a casserole combined with white potatoes. For dessert I bought a New York style cheesecake, plain, and I am going to make a fruit sauce from frozen mixed berries that I bought, to pour on top of it. I have lovely red wine from Chile and some Colombian coffee so I'm all set! Yeah, Mama!
