I have been extremely, horrendously, frustratingly busy for the past week. There are many posts and things I need to catch up on, and will do so soon. Right now I am exhausted and will use today to watch football, tidy up the house a little bit and read some posts, e-mail, etc. Tomorrow I will begin to catch up by leaving comments and replying to different things, as well as go back to collecting photos and perhaps doing a few picspams.

I worked two shifts yesterday...my own as well as a coworker's who went up north to visit her family in Windsor, which is just north of Detroit, Michigan.
Olivia and Joseph left this morning to go back to Montreal. I will miss them horribly but they'll be back on November 10th, to stay for awhile (I hope through Christmas).
I am working on my travel plans to Europe. I should be leaving on December 1st and should be back around December 13th. Details to follow once I have finalized everything.

My most recent major purchase: an Amazon Kindle e-reader! I've been spending some time learning my way around this. I've bought a few books to read on it, like Never Let Me Go by Kasuo Ishiguro which I've just started, as well as some freebies, including a 25-language phrasebook which will come in handy when in Europe. :)

OK, I'll catch up with everybody soon, I promise!♥

Rest up and have fun watching the football games!
Is it weird reading books on the e-reader vs paper?

edit: Came back to mention that I ran into pics of Andy Carroll today while looking for Schalke pics (all games were mixed together) and it reminded me of you :p He scored today! and then I saw your spammers LOL yeah, don't forget those ballroom drapes! :p hahaha wtf

Thanks. Yesterday was a crazy day for games...there were so many of them! O_O

Yes! I saw most of the Newcastle game, and while I missed Andy scoring, I managed to catch his goal on the highlights.

And WTF is up with my spammers??? Why the hell do they bother me? You should see some of my comms! :(

Are they getting past the word verification?

I didn't know the Kindle had a read-aloud option; yeah that would be really handy for when you're driving, like you said. That's pretty cool.

*tsk* I forgot to talk about the e-reader!

I like it, although I still have to get used to it. But the Kindle seems to be user-friendly and easy to read from. You can adjust the size of the type if you need it larger, and you can also have it read the book to you if you're driving or whatever. And because it's so lightweight it's a lot easier to carry than a hardcover book.

It doesn't come with any accessories except a charger, so I had to separately order a cover, a holder, stand, booklight that clips on and earphones. But that whole package cost only $20 so it was OK.

Downloading books is easy. It works off of Wi-Fi so you can download them from the Kindle or you can use the computer, go to the Kindle Store and order them from there. They are sent immediately to your Kindle. It has a unique name and you need a password to get into it.

I know there are other e-readers as well. I think they're great so far. :)

I feel your pain about being busy all week. I'm so far behind with commenting it's not even funny.

I don't think I'll buy an e-reader yet. I like holding a book in my hands, if I travelled more it would make sense to get one, but for now I'll stick to books.

Holy SHIT!!! Is that Lavezzi??? WHAT A GORGEOUS ICON!!!!!!! O_O

Ahem...sorry...distracted!!! LOL.

I only got the e-reader because I'm going to be travelling (ALONE) and it's so light. :)

Oh god, I nave to catch up on picspams. I've collected so many fantastic pics and after I post them I like to go through and choose some pics for icons. I never do it when I'm saving them...it's too much.

OMG! You sounded quite exhausted in that e-mail you sent me, so I felt a bit bad for loading yet another thing on you... *bites lip*

Hee, it's only 31 days until Bilbao now! *happydance* I'm so excited! Have you thought about the other places you want to visit when you're in Europe?

Take your time catching up, I'm sure everybody will understand! :)

Oh no, it was fine, Bill! I may have been tired, but I was fine the next morning! :)

OMG, I just booked my flights today and paid my travel agent! He's now trying to get my hotels! After Bilbao, after you and Becky leave, I am going on to Berlin for a few days before heading home. XDDD

*dances excitedly*

Hope you have rested up and had the opportunity to watch football this weekend. It was a great weekend for Real Madrid fans. I am glad to hear the Kindle is working out for you. I love my Kobo - it is just so much lighter than having to carry books around and it fits in the tiniest of bags. It really will be useful for your vacation.

*sigh* Yes, there was too MUCH football this past weekend! :)

I really like the Kindle but haven't used it very much yet. I'm waiting for my protective covers, etc. to come, as well as finish the current 'regular' book I'm reading - Alexander Pushkin's 'The Captain's Daughter and Other Stories'.

I love the lightness of the e-reader, though, and can't wait to start reading books on it. :)
