OMG! Thanks so much for the beautiful pics! There are so many emotions and remember the matches... but haven't seen all the pics. THANKS!!! Mucho love for 'my' Urus!
How can it happen? There are living something about three million people in Uruguay and they have always some very good footballers!!! I know it is a great chance for the boys to get money and I guess they gave ALL for getting a great footballer!
They are always saying that there is something in the water to make the Argentine footballers so good with the ball at their feet. Some of that water must be trickling into Uruguay because their footballers are great too! I was watching GOLTV's "100 Best Goals of the Year" and they had one of Nic Lodeiro's there, with Nacional. You can see how good he is, how tricky, and he is short with a low centre of gravity just like a lot of Argentines (Kun and Ever come to mind).
This is why the Urus are favourites for me at the WC. Look at the talent they have! Nic should be there. Forlan! Abreu! Lugano! And I heard one pundit on TV talking about Luis Suarez and how he might be the best striker around atm. And he wondered why no big English club had gone after him yet.
Not only the strikers are good. ALL their players are good. They have it ALL, all the way down to the GKs! Why can they not do well?
All I'm saying is the Urus are just as good as any other team. However, the more I thought about the qualifiers, the more I think they were fixed. Argentina and Portugal had to get in, no matter how bad they were. Because it is imperative that both Messi and CR-9 are playing at the WC. The bosses, the 'old men' would never allow that not to happen. So some people had to be paid off to let them win their final games. Whether it was refs or the other teams or both, something happened. And it was weird that both teams made it when last spring it sure looked like neither of them would. Something smells really fishy about the last few months of qualifying. There was just something not quite right about things. I feel it now that I look back.
So I don't know about the WC itself. Of course it can be fixed so that nobody will find out. Everyone who is paid off just has to keep their mouths shut and I suppose there is enough money involved to ensure that they will.
Because of this, now I know the best teams may not advance in the way that I think they should. I don't know where the Urus stand in all this, but I imagine they do not have enough pull. So we will wait and see what happens. And buy a lot of shit that will line the pockets of the FIFA assholes. I know that I want a Uru kit and scarf.
I always loved the Urus! I hope Sebastián Abreu will play there and I would be so happy for him if his dream will be come true!
I hate all the drawings. I hate it with all my heart! For me it would be much better put ALL teams in ONE pot and draw. Okay that can be very shitty but for me it would be more fair. Sure then we can have a group with ALL favs in the first rund and another group with all the underdogs. But it would be fair! Nobody could say it would be fixed! But there is MONEY! Every group has to have a fav team because these matches are magnets for the visitors. Nobody wants to watch Korea vs Korea *LOL* I guess you understand my idea.
