I thought I'd post some of these...mainly so I can remember. *sigh*
I took Olivia with me for a month to Europe. First, we flew to Amsterdam, Holland. After a couple of days there we flew to Munich, Germany, for four days, then off to Naples, Italy for another four. After that we were off to Spain for eight days and finally to Portugal for another eight. We visited (besides Amsterdam, Munich and Naples) Augsburg, Pompeii, Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Sevilla, Cadiz, Lisbon, Cascais and Estoril. It was a great adventure that we'll always remember.
This is me in the train station at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam harbour.

Amsterdam head shop.

Marienplatz in Munich.

The Glockenspiel (it was pouring rain, but this was still spectacular.)

Olivia in a Bavarian restaurant in Augsburg, Germany. They make their own beer!

A street of the 'Fuggerei' in Augsburg.

A farmers' market in Augsburg.

Our hotel near Naples. It was on the lower slopes of Vesuvius. (Since I have a strong fascination for volcanoes, I loved it there.)

This is a view from the hotel. (I mean, seriously...)

In the ruins of Pompeii.

Angela (whom we met in Italy), Olivia and me in Rome. Angela kindly showed us around.

Salvatore was our driver. Here he is with Olivia and Angela along the Amalfi Coast.

Olivia with a couple of boys she met in Sevilla.

One of Sevilla's beautiful fountains.

Sevilla's bullring.

Yes, we went to a bullfight.

Horse and buggy in Sevilla.

In Cadiz' shopping district.

View from our hotel window.

We rented this car to drive from Cadiz to Lisbon.

Vasco da Gama bridge in Lisbon.

Me and Olivia at the beach in Estoril.

I have hundreds of photos, but this will do for now. I'm not going to post them all. :)

Date: 2011-08-13 01:41 pm (UTC)Next I'm going to post my pics from last year's holiday in Bilbao, Spain and Berlin, Germany.
For my next holiday, I'm torn between visiting Europe again, or touring South America.
Nrrrghhhhh...just can't make up my mind! Maybe do both, six months apart? I'll have to live like a pauper and save up ALL my money. ;)
