OFF-TOPIC: CANADIAN OLYMPIANS MEDAL!

Allow me to blow my own horn here a little bit! Our Canadian athletes have been doing really well the past few days, after initially being out of the medals in the first week. So let me do a little picspam of three of our most picturesque athletes. And I'd like to pimp my comm olympic_love for anyone who might be interested in checking out the other posts. XD

Adam Van Koeverden (Kayaking - hasn't won yet but is first in qualifying round - he'll win tomorrow-XD)















And a girl! Priscilla Lopes-Schliep, and she's from my town of Whitby!!! She won bronze in the 100m hurdles!

Silver again! Like 4 years ago! Oh, Alex, if there's no Chinese participated in i'm sure he'll win gold medal! :D I hope he will participate in 10m platform and won some medal back home. :D

Yeah, it's hard to beat the Chinese, but silver is good! I thought I heard on TV that he is not going to compete in the 10m platform here. Is that wrong?

O_O REALLY? Let me see his schedule! *to his website* Well, the schedule, there's 10m platform on it but he doesn't bold it like 3m ones. I'm not sure but probably he won't participate. *cry* That means i won't have a chance to see him on Beijing Olympic Games again! *cry out loud*

Nope, he's not competiting 10 metre. Both Canadian guys (Riley McCormick and Reuben Ross) who are competiting 10 metre made it through prelims today, though :o)

Gahhh!!! I think I jinxed Adam! I was too premature in saying that he would win today!!! *facepalm*
I hope he can pull out of this and win tomorrow. I saw him interviewed on TV this morning and he was truly devastated. I felt awful!

I didn't see the interview but I already feel so bad for him. I'm positive it will just motivate him all the more for tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ever is so cute, isn't he? He's just like a little kid. I told someone else he was probably the type of little boy who never gave his mom a minute's trouble because he could amuse himself! LOL.

OMG, are you kidding? Yes, I am from Whitby! Well, not originally, but I live here now! What school do you go to in Oshawa? I go to night school at Durham College (I'm studying Spanish) and I work during the day in Pickering.

As if! I go to Trent U, at the Oshawa campus (and I live in rez), which is shared with Durham and UOIT. I take spanish too :o) Small world! I do all my groceries in Whitby, lol. That's so crazy!

That is crazy! My son is starting a graphics course at Durham this September so he'll be there too! And I'm just going to start Spanish III in late September!

Where do you do your grocery shopping? We go to the Superstore at Brock&Taunton. We were just there this morning!

I go to Brock & Taunton too, for some reason I prefer that one to the Superstore that's actually *in* Oshawa. Oh well.

Yes, he's pretty excited, I guess, although he's not really the excitable type...he's very laid-back. But he picked up his new laptop that's included in the course and that made him happy! LOL.
