turn! turn! turn! the bundesliga season for better or for worse

When I was watching events unfold yesterday, I couldn't help thinking of the old song that The Byrds made famous. But Turn! Turn! Turn! was written by Pete Seeger in 1959 and made into an international hit by The Byrds in 1965.

To everything there is a season...
...a time to get and a time to lose...
...a time to mourn and a time to dance...
...a time to keep and a time to cast away...

Those are some of the lyrics, the ones I found most appropriate for the situation.

Here are photos from yesterday's matches. Not all, but just some of the teams I like, and ones that were affected by their own results as well as others.

For Hertha Berlin, it's good, because they won decisively, thereby helping to relegate Cologne, and ensuring they will play a team from the 'B' in order to try and win the chance to stay in the top flight.

I'm sad about Cologne. It's too bad they had to play Bayern Munich yesterday. But perhaps fateful.
Lukas Podolski will be leaving the team to join Arsenal FC in the English Premier League.

And Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has won the Golden Boot (or-erm-a cannon?) for being the Bundesliga's top goalscorer this season!

Now, I really do NOT like Wolfsburg as a team, but these are just two gratuitous pics that caught my eye...the team does have some eye candy, as well as a pretty kit colour. :P

Hertha did us proud for a change. Wow. The atmosphere in the stadium was awesome, and when the final whistle was blown, I had tears in my eyes. Now roll on Duesseldorf!!
