jenni_blog: (EPL-SPURS-LUKA HUGS GARETH)

There weren't very many pics this week for any matches in any leagues. Don't know why. But I took the best from the EPL so I could show them here.

Does anyone else share this opinion? That some players are not what you'd call handsome, but they are such talented, exciting athletes that it makes them attractive, even sexy?

Spurs beat Bolton 3-0. Here is Gareth Bale with a tribute to his late NT coach, Gary Speed.

This great pic of Luka was actually left over from last week but was too good not to post.

Liverpool lost away at Craven Cottage, reportedly a difficult place to play. Disappointing, but here are some great pics, starting with this one: oh, JORDAN!!! LOL.

And this pic was also left over from the Europa League match between Fulham and Twente Enschede. Bryan Ruiz was given a portrait of himself by the Twente club.

I didn't want to post the Liverpool pics! The match was totally shitty! The referee was one of the worst I have ever seen!
Luis wasn't offside when he scored! (heve seen a slome and pics where you can see it)

Interesting question!
If a player is in my eyes ugly then he can play like a god and I will still hate him!
If a imo good looking player is playing for the wrong team I can easily dislike him and say he is ugly!
I know we all have a different taste but some players are 'objective' (there are some points) not good looking (Modric) imo. Others will say he is sexy because he is playing for my team. They all can say he is sexy but for me he will be ugly.
You cannot discuss about the look of players because it is very personal what you like or dislike.
Other side I can say a player is very good playing but he doesn't look good for me. I 'm neutral in this case.
There are many possibilities and taste is changing....
Exemple: Fernando Ortiz #19 Vélez defender. I like to watch him and he can play very good football but he isn'r sexy for me even when he is playing like a god and for MY team!
On the other hand a player can play like shit but for me he is good looking and sexy but I can say he isn't playing good and I still like him!

*is confused*

I was at work when the Liverpool game was on, but I saw the highlights later. They were very unlucky not to have scored after a couple of shots hit the posts. I hate Clint Dempsey and he was very lucky when the ball just fell for him exactly right. Shit like this happens all the time but it hurts when it is against your team. :(

When I first started watching football in the leagues and didn't know much about the teams and players (it wasn't that long ago), I can remember the reasons why I liked certain teams. Mostly it was the way they played that made me get excited and awakened the interest in me to want to watch them all the time. Secondly, it was certain players and the way they played, their exuberance, dynamism and the look in their eyes that made me interested in them and made them watchable, and made me remember their names. All had some different qualities, but the point of it all is that what interested me was completely from natural feelings I had, and nothing that I 'wanted' to like because it was what my friends liked. For me that is the true test. So players such as Gareth Bale (he is the prime example for me lately), or Sergio Ramos (during the 2006 WC he was the most noticeable player for me, though some of my friends found him ugly and horse-faced). There were others, too. Some of the Argentines amazed me and I was very attracted to their style of play. For natural looks I like the Hispanic and darkish quality (that is no secret) and since the early days of watching football I have noticed many hot-looking guys, but not all of them are great players.

Of course I think it is normal to love all (or most) of the players from the teams we love, and I think it is only natural for a normal woman to be attracted to some hot athletes that are her 'type'. For sure we enjoy the sport too, but some women who put the fangirls down for thinking players are hot and profess to love only the sport and not the players, are IMO either in denial or outright lying, and for what reason I really don't know. Because does anyone else really give a shit? For me, I think there is nothing wrong with developing 'crushes' on players. It is only normal for any woman, young or old. To deny it is kind of stupid, IMO. We have talked before about how you can love both football and players and there is nothing wrong with that. There is nothing superior about a woman who tries to make herself seem like a knowledgeable football 'expert' who professes to not notice players and how they look, but only concerns herself with stats and results. *pah*

I'm very sensitive to visual stimulation and love to look at pictures. I guess that is obvious. So I will continue to collect pics that I find attractive or interesting, and post them, no matter what others think. I've always agreed to disagree with other people without being nasty about their own choices, because it is a free world and I think people should be honest about their feelings.

I think feelings can change, too, like when a player I like for a national team goes to a club that I positively hate. Case in point - Cesc Fabregas. I hate him now. I can't believe how strong I feel, but it's true. I cannot deny it. Since he has gone to Barca he has become a cheating asshole, IMO. I've seen too much and I cannot stand him now. But it's all my personal feelings, and I can understand how some people still like him, especially if they are Barca fans.

So yeah, it is a bit confusing, but for me, it is nothing to worry about. I just find it very interesting. :) ♥

But what about the look of the players?
I know success makes sexy but not always. I'm never going with the flow!
We know some successful players and we hate them, at least I hate them with all my heart! Success makes NOT sexy.

Hahahahhaah when I first watched the Argentines I thought they are very special and very good looking but that's bullshit! They are like all others! Good looking guys and very ugly ones! There is NOTHING in the water!
I think there are some very good looking footballers in South America (not only in Argentina) I like the Mediterranean typ as you like that typ. But sometimes I see another typ and think he is good looking. Remember how you like some German footballers (for me they are ugly or not interesting)

I never thought CesC would be good looking!!!

I'm a very visual person too and I cannot understand some people... *lol* @ being a free world! Some girls/women don't have any taste in men!!! Some girls/women are blind!!! How can a girl/woman believes CR would be good looking???? In the brain of that person something is wrong!
I will never be polite like you and respect everything and every oppinion! I don't have to please other people!!!
Chaos and fight rule!!!

This is an interesting subject! The look of the players comes into it, of course. I can admire a hot guy as well as the next woman, but he will not interest me that much if he is not an exciting player (at least what I would call exciting). I know there are girls who actually think Messi is good-looking, although I think he is repulsive. But for them he is a great, exciting player and he turns them on. Ditto for CR! But I prefer a different type! I like some Portuguese guys, but not CR!!! :)

Like you said, the Argentines have some great-looking players, but not ALL. What about Tevez, the Militos, lots of others. Some girls might have liked Martin Palermo, thinking he was a great player, but seriously...for me he is/was ugly! There are so many others....I don't want to think about those ones!

This is making me want to picspam the guys I find most attractive. :)

Some of the German footballers are very good-looking! I suppose you don't think so because you are German and are sick of your own men! LOL. But seriously, I love some of the darkish looks they have...Serdar Tasci, Sami Khedira, Mats Hummels and Nuri Sahin, to name a few. I know these guys must have Turkish backgrounds, some of them anyway. I like the look! :P

And there are even some very fair-ish guys I think are hot! Clemens Fritz, the Danish Simon Kjaer, some other cuties...

Of course you are entitled to do things your own way and express your opinions how you like. I do enjoy discussing these things, and I appreciate the differences of opinion. But I don't like bad feelings, and I don't like to fight. :)

You asked: That some players are not what you'd call handsome, but they are such talented, exciting athletes that it makes them attractive, even sexy?

NO and NO and NO and NO! At least for me!

*lol* @ German footballers! Mats Hummel is the only German one. The others you mentioned have NO German background! IMO they are very unattractive too.

Blonde ones! Not really my guys, except Nicklas and Danny! Danny isn't really blonde. Both are not 'dremboys' but they have something special. A man has to be 'special'

I guess if some other user would answer with his LOVE for CR you would say you have a 'soft spot' fpr CR *lol*
Why should I do so??? I guess not many girls/women agree to my taste and that's very good because my taste is very special! NOBODY has to like a player's look whom I love!!!

Back to your question: NO and NO and NO and NO and......

I asked that question because I found that I consider both Gareth Bale and Luka Modric to be so exciting that they affect me in a sexual way as well. I was not hiding the truth, even though it surprised me. But some other players who are admittedly talented do not affect me that way. Is it because the others are not on MY team? I do believe there is a connection. I do believe that most (maybe all) of the players I find attractive play on teams I like, or at least on NATIONAL teams I like! This brings up another question...can I still be attracted to a player who plays in a league that I don't like? Well yes, there are many examples: I like ALL Colombian NT players who play in Italy! Camilo Zuniga, Juan Cuadrado, etc.

I like the point you brought up about a player having to be 'special' to be attractive, even if he isn't handsome. I have to point out that I feel that way about Dayro Moreno and the Paraguayan Guillermo Beltran who plays for Once Caldas. They are not conventionally handsome, but for me I like their look! :)

We will all have different tastes, and that is okay with me! :)

Sorry, I don't get it! An ugly player cannot attract me in that way even if he plays for MY team!

Okay, about taste you cannot discuss and I cannot agree with everything.

If a player is playing for an Italian team he is UGLY and if he is playing for his NT he is okay but I will not like him as before he played in Italy.

I definitely know what you mean. Also, having a great sense of humour helps too! :D

Great pics!

The sense of humour is worth at least twice the good looks, I'd say! ;)

Thank you. ♥
