Okay, my favourite team in Serie A used to be Juventus, but now it seems as if the 'new' Roma, with all its yummy Argentines, has captured my heart. I'm kidding...I still like Juve best, but it's hard to ignore Roma. (And I include Pablo Osvaldo as an Argentine because he was born there, even though he has joined the NT for Italy.)

So this is primarily an AS Roma picspam. :P

Napoli are my Serie A club, but I must admit I have watched a bit of Roma, just to see how Gago is doing, and it sort of cured me of my utter dislike for them. They do have some exciting players now; the players need to get used to each other - create automatisms - then they will be great to watch.

Napoli is a good team with great players, but I did the same and watched Roma to see how Gago would do there, as well as Erik Lamela (on whom I have an inappropriate crush ;) and Pablo Osvaldo, because I can't help myself). :P

All lusting aside, these new players really add a new excitement to Roma, and you're right about having to get used to each other. I watched two matches in a row and already the second time around they showed a better technique than the first time I saw them together. Gago was already managing the flow quite nicely, and I know he still has a long way to go, but I have faith in him. ;)

Hahaha, so we were both on, what I call, Gago-watch. I was hoping he'd find a place on the team and become a regular fixture, and he has done exactly that. Gosh, I'm so proud of him - weird as it may sound. Luis Enrique has him playing at a position which suits him, and it shows!

Once these guys manage to make accurate passes near the opponent's area, they'll be quite an exciting side to watch.

YAY...Roma picspam :) Gago love...Osvaldo love. Lamela is just too much of a little boy for me...but he plays amazingly well. This is such a great team full of talented veterans and young players. With a lineup like they have, Roma are poised to make a mark in Serie A in this and future season.

I like the bonus Matri pics...he is pretty much the reason why I'm still watching Juventus :)

Yes, once the players learn how to work together better, they are sure to be one of the best teams in Serie A.

Matri has been great for Juve, and adds to the eye candy nicely, as well as being a good player. ;)

Matri reminds me of the NT from the '90s. Lookswise, I mean.. he reminds me of young Cannavaro, when he had long hair. I think it's the eyebrows.

OMG a young Cannavaro with the eyebrows! YES!!! I do believe you've caught Matri's look and what's so familiar about it. ;)

Ahhhhh, I know. (re: Pirlo) It seems so wrong. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't (when a veteran player moves on). I mean, for me, Raul fit right in at Schalke from the start and I didn't even miss that he wasn't with Real Madrid anymore.

I must admit it felt strange having Raul, too.. because in my mind, he's like.. Raul Madrid! You can't separate the two! It's like how Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi = AC Milan; Totti = AS Roma, etc. But it's amazing to have him at Schalke, and, aside from all that he does on the pitch, he's really wonderful to the other players, giving them advice and listening to them when they need someone to talk to, and such. Some people, like Draxler and Erwin have become really attached to him.
