Loads of pics from the South American Qualifiers. This race is really tight, folks. Here are the results and standings so far:

Of course, Brazil as host, does not compete. The top four teams (without Brazil) will advance to the World Cup, and the fifth-placed team will go to the inter-federation playoffs.

Standings so far: (But there is a LONG way to go.)

1st: Uruguay
2nd: Argentina
3rd: Ecuador
4th: Colombia
5th: Peru

Yesterday, Venezuela defeated Argentina, on a goal from Fernando Amorebieta of Athletic Bilbao!

Okay Bolivia vs Colombia was thrilling and Colombia was on the lucky side at the end.

My Paraguay boys played very well and that shit Forlan goal was off side....

Venezuela did a very good job!!! Congrats for the first ever victory vs Argentina!

AMOREEEEEEE!!! :D I do like Argentina usually but I was so happy for him having scored that goal and causing that historical victory for Venezuela! Amorebieta gets way too little attention in general, but now I think the world has taken notice. :D

(Btw, who is that Venezuelan player who looks a bit like a younger and prettier version of Carlos Tévez?)

Isn't Amore awesome?????? I am so glad now that he decided to play for Venezuela! He should be a fantastic addition to an already damn good team. And I think they have a great chance to get to the WC 2014! :)

The pretty Venezuelan player is Miku, otherwise known as Nicolas Fedor. He plays for Getafe, only adding to the prettiness of THAT team!XDDDDD
