Some of the teams in the Mexican Primera have previewed their new kits for the 2011-12 season. One of them is Tijuana, nicknamed the 'Xolos', who have been promoted this season. Here are some photos.
But first, a link to an overview of the upcoming season. First match will be tonight, July 22nd, with Estudiantes Tecos meeting Toluca.

Are there any players we might recognize from either team?
Yes. You can see them below the cut.
First, Alfredo Talavera from the Gold Cup winning Mexican National Team and now with Toluca:

Another Toluca goalkeeper is Jorge Villalpando, previously with Jaguares, who reached the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores this year.

That's about all that Toluca has.
Now for Tecos:
Veteran Braulio Luna

Rubens Sambueza, an Argentine previously with River Plate.

American Herculez Gomez

Veteran Jorge Zamogilny

And youngster Taufic Guarch from the Sub-20 team who were semi-finalists at this summer's Toulon Tournament in France.

Okay, now to the new kits.
Cruz Azul unveiled their new kit for 2011-12 with the help of the Sub-17 players who won the U-17 World Cup this summer.

This is Paco Flores of the U-17s.

Atlas as well had the Sub-17s helping them model their new kits:

This is Antonio Briseno

Don't know who this is:

America's new kit modeled by Cristian Benitez and Paul Aguilar

And finally, newly promoted team Tijuana (nickname: XOLOS) unveils their new fiery red kit.

That's all for now. :)

Date: 2011-07-22 07:05 pm (UTC)Some of the red and black kits look alike! :)
The BIMBO is ugly! Oh shit...I had a really hot pic of Vicente Sanchez...it must be on the laptop. Shit...I should try to find it...it was really nice! :)
But yeah...America should make the 'Bimbo' smaller or something. Did you know Memo Ochoa has gone to France to play with Ajaccio? I never heard of them...they must be newly promoted.
The 'Xolos' look interesting. I must keep my eye on them, especially with Dayro Moreno there and those other new players. ;)

Serie A I will only watch Roma for Erik!!!
Emelec! And Barcelona! I think Luis Zubeldia might be the new coach of Ecuador's Barcelona! That will be interesting.
For sure it's going to be hard to see everything. :(
Liverpool will do great. Luis is having a great Copa and I hope he scores and becomes the top goalscorer and not tied with Kun! :)
