On my flist, [livejournal.com profile] aglaiya has been doing some wonderful updates for us of the various qualifying games in South America. I've also been collecting pics, but since a lot of them are identical to hers, I thought I'd just do a post to celebrate some of my favourite teams involved, and showcase some of my favourite players. (I've probably missed a few, so please forgive me.)

First of all, Argentina. LOL.

LOL @ Roman's seriousness.

Next: Brazil's Dani Alves. He's my favourite Brazilian by far.

Photobucket

I like Robinho too.

Photobucket

Bolivia: they don't have a chance, but this is Marcelo Martins, a real cutie.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Chile. They're so cute, one of my favourite teams that probably won't make it.

Gary Medel and GK Claudio Bravo.

Photobucket

LOL. This pic just kills me. I have no idea what Humberto Suazo was doing this for.

Photobucket

Mark Gonzalez. I think he's injured again.

Photobucket

Colombia. Radamel Falcao Garcia. I've watched two interviews with him and was stunned by how much he sounds like Fernando Gago when he's talking.♥

Oh. And Colombia is in third place at the moment, behind Paraguay (#1) and Argentina (#2). The top five South American teams will qualify.

Photobucket

This is Hugo Rodallega.

Photobucket

Mexico (CONCACAF). Andres Guardado. How sweet is he, and what a wonderful player.

Paraguay. Roque Santa Cruz and Paulo Dossantos share a joke.

Photobucket

Roque celebrates.

Photobucket

Julio Caceres and Paulo Dasilva celebrate.

Photobucket

Roque and Nelson Valdez.

Photobucket

Salvador Cabanas.

Photobucket

Peru. They are in a crisis of sorts. This is Juan Vargas with the doctor.

Photobucket

Paolo Guerrero training.

Photobucket

Uruguay. I hope they qualify. They have a good chance, with a lot of great players, but they're only seventh in the standings, I think. They can improve, though.

Diego Forlan.

Photobucket

Sebastian Abreu.

Photobucket

Diego Lugano.

Photobucket

Luis Suarez.

Photobucket

Carlos Bueno.

Photobucket

Guatemala (CONCACAF). Carlos Ruiz and teammates celebrate.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Venezuela. Doing better than expected.

Photobucket

Jose Rey.

Photobucket

Ecuador (CONCACAF) training. Luis Saritima.

Photobucket

Ecuador is a big, strong team and will likely qualify. Here are some players from LDUQ, who are in the finals of the Copa Libertadores.

Photobucket

Honduras. (Also CONCACAF). This is Kevin Hernandez, the GK. (He reminds me of Memo Ochoa.)

Beautiful pics! Thanks so mucho! (You are super, always I know who is on the pic! Thanks!)

Can you give me a link for Falcao interview? Or is it on YouTube?

You are so very nice. My pic spams are always only for teams I really love. Sorry, i cannot be so tolerant :(

You was showing me the beautiful south american football again!

LOL. You're welcome! Sorry to get back to you so late, but first was the Spain vs Greece game and then the Argentina vs Brazil game which I am watching now!

I checked YouTube for the Falcao interview, but it was on GolTV news (both of them, actually). On You Tube I found these two, and there are more too, I think.

I like to cover all the games, except for teams I hate, but there aren't many of those.

Argies &hearts of course by far my faves.

But hey, little Luis Suarez! He's so powerful, you can really feel his energy beaming when he's playing :D

One of the reasons Luis Suarez caught my eye was his passion when he plays. That is always the key to making a player one of my favourites. For me it's not just the looks, but the talent and passion too. (I'm sure most of us feel the same. LOL.)

OMGS!! what the heck is our great Humberto Suazo doing in the pic? ha ha! awesome find :)

Of course I loved the Chile pics, especially the Gary Medel one... it's very slashy!

One of our great players and by far my favorite of the national team is Carlos Villanueva, but sadly he didn't played on the last qualifiers matchs.

Muchas gracias :)

I love the Chile team so much, but am feeling the loss of Valdivia. However, the team is winning even without him and is in 4th place now in the qualifiers! OMG I'm so happy for them and hope they can keep it up! I love all their players, most especially Alexis Sanchez of River Plate and I've always loved Humberto and his great attitude!
