I love mate. It's soooo soothing! But yeah...not when it's hot & humid! Is terere the same only cold?

Terere is the same! Usually we only drink mate in the mornings (even if it's summer and super hot) and then terere the rest of the day. It's really good with lemon in the water. :D

Terere sounds good...I'll have to try it. I have mate both in bags and I have a sack of loose mate leaves too. :) I really like it but have only had it hot!

I brought back 10kilos of Pajarito (a type of yerba--yerba mate) back when I came from Paraguay last and now I'm running low. Sigh. Where do you get your mate leaves from?

I live in (actually on the outskirts) of Toronto and because it is multicultural here you can find anything! Where I live there is a large Mexican community and the local supermarket where I work sells mate leaves probably because there is a big demand for them. The ones I bought are called Cruz de Malta, and the distributor is Grupo Estella SA in Buenos Aires.

We can get yerba mate teabags in any health food store. My favourite brand is "Bija".
