MY WORLD CUP TEAMS

Two of my favourite National Teams are in the same group! That would be Mexico and Uruguay, both in Group A along with France and New Zealand. That's a tough group for sure, but my hope is that Uruguay will end top with Mexico second. I thought I'd do a tribute post for each team. Right now Mexico (known as 'El Tri') is playing a series of friendlies before the WC begins. They played Ecuador yesterday with the result being a scoreless draw. I don't think that Javier Aguirre, Mexico's coach, will go with this squad to the World Cup, but there's a good chance most of them will be there.

Okay, so here's a little picspam, and I'll name the players.

This is the stadium where last night's friendly match was played. The player on the billboard is Javier Hernandez, known as 'Chicharito', who has just been signed by Manchester United.

Thanks! Memo always takes such great pics, it's hard not to post them! Awww...Guardado! He is just the cutest little thing...I called him a 'Botticelli Angel' once. And he is so funny in interviews. Not long ago the press guy asked him if he thought Deportivo would be weaker without their national team players and Guardado said, "What national team players? We don't have any!" Except him, of course. Hahahahaha. So funny. (And he was wrong...Ze Castro has played for the Portuguese NT for some time now and Filipe for Brazil, of course, when he was healthy!) And maybe there are more, I don't know. XD
