TORONTO VS SEATTLE THIS SUNDAY - I'M GOING!

I have tickets to see Toronto FC play Seattle Sounders this Sunday. I am excited about this on so many levels! First, Seattle is an expansion team, whose first year in the MLS (last year) was so successful that they made it to the semi-finals in the playoffs. Second, Seattle has a player named Fredy Montero, a Colombian striker whose career I have been following since he was 18 years old and playing in Colombia. (Everyone who knows me knows I ADORE Colombian football. It's wide open, attacking, and all teams usually play in a 4-2-2-2 formation. The players are technically gifted and fast.) Seattle also has Freddie Ljungberg, late of Arsenal, who has been the team's inspiration since he came on board. The two Freddies, as they are called, are Seattle's best, most exciting players. I can't wait to see them. Oh yes, and the team is partly owned by Drew Carey, the American comedian.

Anyway, some pics of Seattle vs Real Salt Lake from a couple of weeks ago. Seattle is in the green kit. Of note, Real Salt Lake won the MLS championship last year and also has some great players.

Pat Noonan of Seattle vs Alvaro Saborio, one of my favourite Costa Rican players. He was recently with Bristol City in the Coca-Cola Championship in England.



Osvaldo Alonso is another really great Seattle player.



Here he is against Kyle Beckerman, a really good RSL defender.

YES! Martin Saric is at Toronto now! No, I haven't seen him yet, but I will this Sunday! :)

Ah, good! He was training at San Lorenzo when he was sort of "in between" clubs and then I read an interview with him a couple of weeks ago, about his brother's death (Mirko used to play for San Lorenzo) and he said that he'd signed with Toronto. I'm happy for him =)

Oh gosh, I think you told me about Mirko Saric some time ago. It sounds very, very familiar. I hope Martin works out well. I had hoped for good things from Pablo Vitti last year...he started out doing great...he won the award for best player in the exhibition game against River Plate, but then he sort of faded away...I don't know what happened! Sometimes it's a coach-player thing. Who knows?

Oh no! I used to like Juventus but not anymore! And Fiorentina is NOT my team! LOL. I like only Palermo and Napoli in Italy and the Milan teams are OK. But that's all! :)

I love Diego and I doubt he will be in the Brazil WC squad so he should be in Toronto but it would really suck if I spent all that money and he wasn't there!

I feel bad that Diego left Werder Bremen for Juve and it didn't work out for him! He was such a star at Werder. :(

Yeah, that would suck if he wasn't there. That always happens in friendlies! Some players go, some stay at home. You just don't know! :(
