Yesterday I predicted only this game wrong. I really thought it would be a tie, and not by collusion. Uruguay beat Mexico 1 - 0, keeping their record 3-game shutout. Mexico ends up going through in second place anyway, because of the other results on the day.

South Africa beat France 2 - 1 but could not go through because of goal differential. Of note, France managed a record, being the only team to score a goal while down to 10 men. South Korea tied Nigeria but they go through in Group B with a better record than Greece.

And I came across a few more very nice pics from the Spain match that I thought I'd share:

Argentina won this match 2 - 0. While I am a bit sad that Greece is going home because I liked them, I know that they have a few problems and didn't deserve to go through. While their players have some good skills, particularly in defense and goalkeeping, and their No. 10 (Karagounis) is an incredible passer of the ball (long passes and crosses especially), Greece lacks ability on the short passes and forward play. I think they were missing a few key players, though, because of injury.

I think I downloaded about 150 pictures from this match. Obviously I can't post them all, so I'll just choose what I think are the best ones. But I am going to break this picspam into two. First, a Greece-centric one and then an Argentina-centric one. By Greece-centric I mean that while there are Argentine players in the pics too, the photos are mainly focused on the Greeks.

Okay, so first one:

There was this epic hair war going on between Georgios Samaras and Martin Demichelis.

Argentina 2 - 0 Greece. Another strong performance by a South American team, with ALL FIVE at the top of their groups at the present time.

Enjoy this Argentina-centric picspam!

Oh, yeahhhhhh baby.....

OMG, I've experienced my first ever EARTHQUAKE!!!

It was pretty freaky...I was sitting in front of my computer with the TV on to my right. The floor started rumbling under my feet and everything was shaking. I couldn't look at the computer screen because it made my eyes buggy. I immediately wondered if it was an earthquake so I got up and went downstairs and looked outside to see if anything had happened out there. Nothing...I didn't think anything more of it but then my husband came home and asked me if I had heard about it.

Here is a newslink:

Like, WOW. It was a very strange feeling!
