MY WORLD CUP TEAMS

Two of my favourite National Teams are in the same group! That would be Mexico and Uruguay, both in Group A along with France and New Zealand. That's a tough group for sure, but my hope is that Uruguay will end top with Mexico second. I thought I'd do a tribute post for each team. Right now Mexico (known as 'El Tri') is playing a series of friendlies before the WC begins. They played Ecuador yesterday with the result being a scoreless draw. I don't think that Javier Aguirre, Mexico's coach, will go with this squad to the World Cup, but there's a good chance most of them will be there.

Okay, so here's a little picspam, and I'll name the players.

This is the stadium where last night's friendly match was played. The player on the billboard is Javier Hernandez, known as 'Chicharito', who has just been signed by Manchester United.

MY WORLD CUP TEAMS: PART TWO

Uruguay is a team with fantastically gifted players. I would not be surprised to see them go quite far, although I guess they would not be one of the favourites. But if they can get it together, defend well and let their forwards shine I think they have a pretty good chance. So in Uruguay's honour, here is a picspam of the players I think would be included in the National Team. The team has not yet been announced, but these players were the most recently called-up. There are no recent training pics, so I'll just include a photo or two of each player.
