Now, you may wonder why I am literally spamming LJ with posts lately. Well, it's because I've been on vacation this week and I had it in mind to do all these posts if I could. There are still a few more I wanted to get in. So please bear with me because I may not be able to post much after I go back to work next week.

Simon Rolfes is the Captain today for Leverkusen! And Arturo Vidal is replacing Bernd Schneider in central midfield. Stefan Kiessling has 6 goals already in the UEFA Cup. Leverkusen is playing in their white kit today. It's very fetching, particularly on Simon Rolfes and Arturo Vidal. Strange, because one is so blond and the other so dark.

Okay, enough of my comments on the eye candy. Let's get on to my visual observation of the game itself! Get ready for lots of drama! LOL.

WOW! Rene Adler comes out of the box and makes a fantastic challenge on Olic at the 4-minute mark. Gekas tries a header not a minute later and on the counterattack, Adler comes out again to stop a certain goal from Hamburg. This game is going to be full of action and very tense, I can feel it. I hope my nerves will hold up! I want Leverkusen to go through so badly!

Gekas again at 5:54 minutes!!! Stopped by the keeper!

Jarolim fouls Vidal at 6 minutes. Barbarez fouls Jarolim a few seconds later. It's payback time!

Paolo Guerrero gets a huge opportunity at 8 minutes but again, Rene saves it! Olic sends the rebound wide. It's non-stop action, I can tell you!

Jarolim and Kiessling have a go at each other at 9 minutes and Leverkusen gets the free kick, taken by Gonzalo Castro. Van der Vaart takes a shot at 10 minutes but he scuffs it wide - he can't believe he did that! Rene is upset at his defense, wondering where they were at that point!

Arturo looks good. Mmmm. His hair has grown longer. Ooops! Back to the game! LOL. Arturo gets off a shot and wins a corner at 12 minutes. Quillo Barnetta takes the corner and Manuel Friedrich heads the ball directly to Rost, the keeper.

Kiessling is fouled at 14 minutes. The free kick is from 35 yeards out. Vidal puts too much on it and it sails out of bounds on the sideline.

Olic fouls little Barnetta at 17 minutes and another free kick is given. Quillo and Arturo discuss who should take it and Quillo wins the kick. Thank God!!!

GOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! A wonderful delivery by Quillo sends the ball to Barbarez, who flicks it in for the goal!

Hamburg 0 - Leverkusen 1

Olic fouls Kiessling AGAIN (the ref is not giving anything in this game) at 19 minutes and there is another free kick but nothing comes of it.

Wow! At 29 minutes Vidal fouls Guerrero, then Demel retaliates and takes Vidal out with a rather hard foul. The ref, true to form, gives nothing! No cards, nothing!

Wow! A good shot on goal by Olic that goes wide but Rene rolls on the pitch to try to stop it.

Wow! (Lots of 'Wows'! This game is heating up!) Castro dispossesses Guerrero in the box and clears the ball away!

Rene makes another huge stop at 31 minutes. OOPS! Guerrero elbows Vidal in the neck, right on his Adam's Apple at the 32-minute mark but the ref doesn't see it!!! It should have been a sending off!

Kiessling is fouled yet again by Olic. OMG! Adler flips a cross by Olic over the crossbar! That was so close. Barbarez clears the corner kick away.

Quillo gets on a breakaway but Ofoe makes a great tackle on him before he can accelerate his pace. OMG! Another chance for Hamburg! Olic on the right, kicks it straight to Adler who dives onto the ball. Kiessling goes for goal at 40 minutes but he misses. At 41 minutes Van der Vaart tries a flick-on and Rene makes a magnificent save! The ball from the corner kick goes out of touch. Gekkas tries a shot at 43 minutes but it goes wide. And Barbarez goes on a nice run, sends the ball over the bar and it is deflected, but the refs didn't catch that, so no corner kick comes out of it for Leverkusen.

Jeez - the rain is pouring down now really hard.

Guerrero has another chance just before the half-time whistle blows, but nothing comes of it. You can see Hamburg is really pressing. This is a really well-fought game between these two teams. My heart can't take much more of this. I'm really tense. I'll go get a tea and come back for the second half.

~~

SECOND HALF

OMG! Piotr Trochowski scores an equalizer at 52 minutes! Rene couldn't get to it! The shot went low and into the bottom corner. Leverkusen are still ahead on aggregate, though. Even so, I am very nervous for Leverkusen.

Hamburg 1 - Leverkusen 1

OMFG! Gekas scores at 55 minutes! Damn! He has been incredible for them lately!

Hamburg 1 - Leverkusen 2

Now there is so much action I can't keep writing and watching at the same time! I'll only jot down the highlights and see what happens. Either team could win this, it's that close.

At 57 minutes Guerrero pulls on Friedrich and FINALLY a yellow card is given for the foul!

Then Paolo Guerrero finally gets a goal at 63 minutes.

Hamburg 2 - Leverkusen 2

Arturo provokes Van der Vaart at 74 minutes and he gets a yellow for it. Oof!!! Haggui makes a nice tackle, preventing Olic from getting into a good scoring position. Then Olic comes off at 75 minutes and Sydney Sam comes on for him. OMFG! At 80 minutes Van der Vaart scores off a great pass by Paolo Guerrero who had beat Simon Rolfes.

Hamburg 3 - Leverkusen 2

Shit! Leverkusen are still up on aggregate because of the away goals. All they have to do now is hang on for 10 more minutes!!! *bites nails*

I can't watch anymore! Dammit! My nerves are so shot!

Oh, shit! Rene catches a shot by Trochowski at 83 minutes that made my heart stop. Oh no!! Four minutes of stoppage time are being added! No fucking way! NOOOOOEEEESSSS!!!!!

I'm sorry, I feel I can't write anymore! Vidal comes off. I'm biting my nails again. Hold on, boys, hold on. Christ!!! HOLD THEM!!!!

*SHRIIIEEEKKK!!!* Trochowski! SHOT!!! WIDE!!! Oh, thank God. Thank GOD. Oh, Rene! You be ready for those, now, baby! You've been a solid rock so far! Don't let us down now!!!

Hamburg is on fire!!! There are only a few seconds to go! Paolo Guerreri looks so pissed. He's played a hell of a game.

AAAAAGGGHHHHH!!!! The ref blows the whistle EARLY!!!! Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!

Leverkusen has hung on for the win on aggregate!!!

AWWWW.... Paolo Guerrero has taken off his shirt. He's got some nice tats. Too bad. LOSER!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! *laughs insanely*

Aww, I know how that feels! *hugs you*

I don't really follow Bundesliga, but if I would then I'd favour HSV for the sake of Rafael &hearts
I just love my ex-Ajax boys.

Awww....I don't blame you! I feel lucky because Setanta has been showing us some Eredivisie games every week now! So I get to see Ajax quite often (and the others). They are very entertaining and I like a few of their players, although I can't think of their names right now! (Except for Jan Klaas Huntelaar.) Don't worry. It won't take me long to latch onto a few favourites! It's like with the Argies. We get to see one league game per week and it's always River or Boca vs whoever, so that's the only way I get to see the other teams. And I love all my ex-Argie team boys when they go to Europe!

Unfortunately, Ajax haven't been performing the way they should this season :/
I do love to keep track on our ex-players, especially the old youthplayers, like you do with your fave Argies ;-)

Oh, so large list :) And our Spartak wan in the UEFA match cup with Bayer L. 2-1.
And what about Canadian football and teams?

From: [identity profile] digdigil.livejournal.com
I know my list is large. I wish I knew more about the Russian league. Who is your favourite Russian player? The closest I can come to that besides Dimitar is Levan Kobiashvili, who is Georgian. I just love Levan. He plays always with heart and he is adorable.

My city Toronto joined the MLS last year. That is the U.S. league in which David Beckham now plays. So I can go to see games and sometimes they play exhibition games against European teams. I heard that West Ham might come to play this summer. I hope so. I would go to see that.

The Canadian national team is in 62nd place in the FIFA world rankings. They are currently trying to qualify for the Olympic Games and have a chance of going through to the round-of-16. I will keep my fingers crossed. Canada has some good players, but some Canadians choose to play for other countries, such as Owen Hargreaves for England. That is too bad because Canada needs them. :(

Yes, I know a little about Major League Soccer and Beckham's "L.A.Galaxy".

I've got 3 favourite players in Russia:

1. Egor Titov - captain of Spartak and legend of Russian football

2. Roman Pavluckenko - Spartak's striker (Real Madrid want buy him). His 2 goals helps Russian team wan the math with England!

3. Alexandr Kerzhakov - This year he played in Sevilla, but now he came back to Russia - to FC Dinamo

OMG I am worry to be so late with this reply! But I am very excited to tell you that one of our TV stations here (FOXSW Canada) has just started to add the Russian league to their news broadcast! This means that once a week they will be showing us highlights of the games around the league and give us updates on the standings, top goalscorers, etc.

And how could I forget Alexandr Kerzhakov? He played for one of my favourite teams, Sevilla!!! *facepalm* I knew that he had returned to Russia and was quite saddened to hear that, but I know he didn't get enough playing time at Sevilla.

At least now I will be able to keep up with the news from your league every week, because I watch the FOXSW news broadcast every night!
