CANADA TIES MEXICO - CONCACAF QUALIFIERS

Wow! I am ecstatic because Canada (my country) tied Mexico in the CONCACAF qualifiers for the World Cup 2010. Okay, it's still just the Group Stages and Mexico did not field any of their stars except for Memo Ochoa, their goalkeeper, but I'm thrilled because Mexico is No. 16 in the FIFA World national team rankings and Canada is 62nd.

CONCACAF stands for Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football. Yes, this is our group for qualifying for the World Cup. It's tough because we are up against many excellent teams, including the USA, Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala, to name a few.

Thanks! Yes, the Mexican kids are terrific! And they should do well in the qualifiers. Actually, Canada's stars, like De Guzman and De Rosario were not playing either. So it was nice that we could tie Mexico, because Mexico really is so much better. During the U20 WC last summer I was terribly disappointed that Canada went out, bottom of their group, having scored no goals at all. So at least they seem to have improved a lot!
