Had a nice visit with my sister yesterday, who is going for hip replacement surgery on June 12th. Her birthday is June 18th, so we wanted to meet beforehand to have lunch and do a bit of shopping, because she doesn't know how long her recovery time will be and it would probably be at least a month before she's back on her feet again. She liked the presents I got her: a House of Martell T-shirt from HBO's Game of Thrones shop and a gift card. While we were shopping, we found some Game of Thrones goodies in the Chapters/Indigo bookstore. They had some coffee mugs, t-shirts, mouse pads, keychains and other 'jewelry', as well as the illustrated (as in comic strip) version of the first book in the series (I want!) and some journals with different covers. The one we liked best had the Oath of the Night Watch printed on the cover. (Want this also!)

Excited about the Game of Thrones finale for Season Two tonight! Should be very tense and with lots of cliffhangers. I haven't had time to write my thoughts on the past couple of episodes, but they were superb, IMO and stuck more to the book. I had been getting a bit worried because the 6th episode was straying too far away and didn't know what to expect from the show's producers. Because it's such a complicated story with so much interconnecting and involvement of story lines, it seemed to be a dangerous game to fool around too much with the plot and character changes and destroy the whole story and tone of the novels.

Am bitterly disappointed that Ramsay Bolton looks not to be introduced in tonight's episode, since his part seems not to have been cast yet, according to the message boards and all the fansites I've been checking. And thinking ahead, I think it's inconceivable that Theon would disappear for an entire two seasons in the series, even though he does in the books. So perhaps Ramsay will be cast for next season and they will find a way to bring both him and Theon into the story.

Sad about some of the game results yesterday. Portugal losing 3-1 to Turkey right before the Euro competition is not good for team confidence. And because Uruguay could only tie Venezuela they have lost the top spot in the table to Argentina. I was disappointed in Ecuador for not figuring out how to contain the Argies. And while Chile beating Bolivia was not that much of a surprise, I still don't like the fact that Chile (a team I really detest) is in third place now. This means that even if Colombia wins today, they can only reach 5th place in the table. It would still be potentially a World Cup spot for them, but I am pissed nevertheless, and I know I am crazy because it is only Matchday 5 for Pete's sake and there are 18 Matchdays in all.

Okay, that is all. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. :)

Here are some photos from the Uruguay vs Venezuela match which ended in a 1-1 tie:

Football! What a shith night!

Love my Ecuador boys! I still don't understand what they did..... Argentina is in no way better with all the fucking shit money stars! I hate that shithole team with all my heart!

The Bolivia vs Chile match was a FAKE! The referee didn't give TWO hand penalties for Bolivia! Didn't give red for a shit Chileno but punished a Bolivian with red for NOTHING! That's South American football in reality!

*LOLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ* about Portugal, as long as they play with CR (who couldn't put a penalty in the net) they can loose every match! Well done turkish boys! (Have read Dirk Kuyt will go to Fenerbahce!)

Game of Thrones! I hope they will bring a to a good end. Still don't like the second season :(

Sometimes football nights can be not fun at all! :(((

Ecuador disappointed me. I know they are better than that. They made the Argies look better than they are, ffs! :((((

Do you know how much I HATE when that happens???

Right, I didn't see the Bolivia match and forgot what you told me about the ref! Bolivia should have won at home against those arseholes. (The only ones I like are Mati and Arturo Vidal. I even hate Alexis Sanchez now and I liked him when he was at River!)

Portugal are 11 individuals instead of 1 team. I think that is their problem. And I have to blame the CR idiot.

Dirk Kuyt going to Fenerbahce is a bit sad. He is an asset to any team. :((((

I am excited about the GoT ending tonight! The second season has not been overall as good as the first, but for the last couple of episodes when it was truer to the book. :)

Let's hope for two good things tonight! :)

Everyone here is gearing up for European Championships... As for GoT, I am reading a Clash of Swords now so I am looking forward to wrap-up as well, looking at the episode title. :)

I'm glad you are reading the ASOIAF series of books as well as watching the TV show. They are both very exciting and provide hours of enjoyment. :)

Oooh, those Game of Thrones things sound awesome. I had my first glimpse at GoT merchandise when I was in Bilbao and browsed through the FNAC store, because strangely enough they're not really selling much merchandise in the shops in Germany (at least I haven't seen any so far!). I was this close to buying myself a mug but then decided not to because I had no idea how to transport it home and I didn't want it to get broken. But maybe I'll order some stuff online some day! The t-shirts are really cool too!

I also have my eye on the two "The Art of Ice and Fire" books, with tons and tons of artwork about the series. I had a look at the first one in Bilbao and I loved it. Too bad they're still so expensive!

Haven't watched any of the second season so far because the Farmer and I started watching Rome before the second season was published and we still haven't finished it. But once that's done, I'm excited to watch season 2! :D
