COPA LIBERTADORES FIRST SET OF MATCHES - GROUP STAGE

Last night the teams from Group 7 played each other in the first round of matches, and two teams from Group 4. They were all pretty exciting - I watched all 3 matches.

And tonight there will be games from Groups 3, 5 and 6. (Don`t ask me why they do it this way.)

I have to watch the matches on a stream. Nacional of Paraguay will play Cruz Azul at 4:45 pm my time, but Union Espanola of Chile and Junior of Colombia are playing at the same time, which is a bummer, because I will have to watch them both at the same time. It figures that Cruz Azul and Junior are both my favourite teams in each of their leagues. :(

Then at 7:00 pm Vasco da Gama of Brazil will host Nacional of Uruguay (another favourite team).

I`m really excited about these matches tonight! :)

Okay, now for a picspam from last night`s matches:

Velez Sarsfield of Argentina just freakin`killed Defensor of Uruguay 3-0. Awesome stuff.

















Seba Dominguez was Man of the Match. The central defender scored off an amazing free kick. (I would choose him No. 1 for my Argie NT if I was the coach.) XD

















Another Argie team, Arsenal de Sarandi, played Fluminense of Brazil, but they lost 1-0 in Brazil. I guess that`s pretty respectable.









And lastly, Chivas de Guadalajara hosted Deportivo Quito of Ecuador. It ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Omnilife Stadium in Jalisco, Mexico.













Little Carlos Fierro, from the U-17 team that won the WC last summer, was playing for Chivas.





And Omar Arellano (`Pino`) scored.

3) 4:45 PM - Copa Lib - Nacional Paraguay vs Cruz Azul
4) SAME TIME! Union Espanola vs Junior
5) 7:00 PM - Vascao da Gama vs Nacional Uruguay

Is a lot! And if I wanted to watch the Copa del Rey between Barca & Valencia it is on at 3 on TV!

Okay, Taca match! I guess there are some Cup matches on today for some of the other leagues as well.

Stupid to have Junior same time as Cruz Azul, but no one has any respect for the Colombians! Still, they need to earn it! :(

I will call you on MSN! I decided to take the rest of the week off work and put in for vacation time, and that way I will get paid for the week. I still feel too shitty - tried to go shopping today and it almost killed me. :(

Are you going to make a post on the Copa Lib??????? Or wait until after tonight's matches?

I hate same time matches!!!

Okay!

I always make my entries when all matches of a week are played. It's always the same. I hate NOT to have it all at the same post. Maybe I am a fanatic perfectionist *lol*
