PICS FROM THE COPA LIBERTADORES

So who has heard of Atletico Junior or Junior of Barranquilla? Nobody, right? Well, I have been watching this team for a few years, in the Colombian league, which has been growing stronger in leaps and bounds. In just the past three or four years it has made many changes, resulting in much more professionalism. The players have always been terribly talented and skilfull, but now they are becoming better known around the world.
Why am I writing about this?
Because last night Junior achieved something that no other team in the 2011 Copa Libertadores has done, which is having won their first 4 matches in the Group Stages, they have clinched first place in their group and will advance to the knockout stages. There are still two group stage matches to be played, but nobody else can catch them.
So guess what? I love this team, I am so proud of them, and therefore it's time for a picspam!
And yes, this is the team whose mascot, an owl, was brutally kicked by an opposing player a couple of weeks ago and subsequently died from shock.
The team after last night's win!

A fan wearing an owl mask to commemorate the poor little deceased mascot.

Team lineup.

Regular goalkeeper Sebastian Viera is injured.

Match pics.

Briliant individuals
No. 9 Sherman Cardenas

L to R: Jhon Viafara, Carlos Bacca and Giovanny Hernandez

Jossymar Gomez

Luis Paez

More Carlos Bacca, who scored a double
