It's a reading / book meme! How cool! :D Snagged from PRETTY_PANTHER who is doing some really lovely memes these days. :D

1. Do you prefer to read hardcover or paperback books?
I don't really have a preference...both are fine. Hardcover books can be more difficult to read in bed because of their heaviness, but that hasn't been a real problem for me. However, in this day and age, I wondered why the question didn't include e-readers. I have a Kindle and have read several books on it now. I think e-readers are fantastic...they are light, easy to carry and can be used anywhere.

2. Do you have a favourite place to read in your home?
My preferable place to read is in the living room on one end of the sofa where there is a recliner and beside it is a cup holder for my drink. But I also read in bed and downstairs on the rec room sofa sometimes to get some peace and quiet.

3. Do you have a favourite place to read away from, or outside of, your home?
I love to read on the bus, train and airplane. Just not in the car. But another advantage of e-readers is that you can switch your book to "audio" and have it read to you!

4. Do you snack while you read? If so, favourite reading snack?
Not really. It's too difficult to eat and read at the same time. I will make myself something to drink, though, usually tea or coffee (to help stay awake).

5. Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
Oh no! I really am horrified by the idea of writing in books! I use a bookmark for 'real' books and the e-reader comes with its own 'bookmark'.

6. How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?
I use a bookmark and always try to finish a page so I'll know where to begin when I pick it up again. But if I can't there is no problem re-reading a page.

7. Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Both. I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction.

8. Hardcopy or audiobooks?
I like to read the written word and have never tried an audiobook, but the option is there if I need it.

9. Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
I can put it down at any point, although I would rather finish the chapter. It's never going to always be possible, though.

10. If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
Sometimes I do if I really have to know right away what it means. But I usually just make a note and check it out later. Sometimes it is fairly easy to figure out the meaning from the context of the sentence.

11. What are you currently reading?
"The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest". Of course it's riveting.

12. What is the last book you bought?
"Never Let Me Go".

13. What is your all time favourite book?
"Les Miserables". It has it ALL.

14. Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time, or can you read more than one at a time?
I had to stop reading more than one book at a time because I was driving myself crazy. Now I really try to stick to only ONE. As long as cookbooks don't count!

15. Do you like re-reading books?
Oh yes, although lately I haven't been able to do so. No time. But eventually I want to re-read all my favourites. :)

Reading more than one book at a time gets so awkward! Right now I have three paper books and two ebooks, oh, and an audiobook too. I think I ought to follow your example and stick to one at a time!

I used to be able to do that, but I find it's too much now. I am trying to simplify my life. Hahaha.

Busy woman!

I mostly read more than one book because I buy too many new ones and reread too many older ones.

I got my cell phone back and I have still a selfmade 'barra barra' from 'Black Hawk Down' soundtrack on it.

The second meme is for people who remember all what they have done.... I never could answer it all ;)

I did the second meme awhile ago but never posted it...I think it was just last week!

I used to read more than one book, but can't do that anymore. Although I will read a magazine at the same time as a book.

(That reminds me...I need to send you some!)

To read some mags or newspapers doesn't count ;)

(That would be great!)

If I had any time at all right now, I'd totally snag the book meme. :D

To me reading a book on Kindle or something like that just isn't the same as reading a proper book because I need to feel the pages between my fingers to have a complete reading experience. XD Of course that doesn't mean that e-book devices aren't incredibly handy for travelling. :)

you can switch your book to "audio" and have it read to you!
Doesn't that sound pretty weird? I assume the e-books don't have proper audio books but just a computer voice, right?

LMAO, I'm sure you don't have any wrinkles! :D

"Bron Yr Aur Stomp"
Sounds interesting! What language is that?

It was some damn ad for Viagra!
OMG, you get spam via text messages? O_______O HORRIBLE!!!

You ROCK for listening to Basque songs! :D I've been listening to "Amaren besoetan" pretty much all the time lately, lol!

Hands down, Bilbao. I've been to some great places in the world and loved them all, but Bilbao is special.
ISN'T IT JUST? :D

LMAO, your first boyfriend must have felt pretty stupid... XDDD

Hope your lower back will stop hurting soon! *hugs*
