BASQUE COUNTRY HERE I COME!

It's only two weeks away now...soon I will be in the Basque Country for five heavenly days. :)
I picked up a copy of Lonely Planet's Discover Spain book and have been devouring the pages devoted to El Pais Vasco.
Words like these are very stimulating...
El Goog (the Guggenheim, designed by Canadian architect Frank Gehry)...a shimmering titanium fish and a horde of arty groupies around the world...
Museo De Bellas Artes...more than a complement to El Goog, it often seems to actually exceed its more famous cousin for content.
Casco Viejo (the Old Quarter)...at the heart of the Casco are Bilbao's original 'seven streets', Las Siete Calles, which date from the 1400s.
San Sebastian (Basque: Donostia)...you'll sit back with a drink and an artistic 'pintxo' and realize that yes, you too are in love with sexy San Sebastian.
There are pintxos and then there are San Sebastian pintxos. San Sebastian has some superb restaurants and...home to more Michelin stars than even Paris.
...spectacular seascapes...cliffs plunge into the sea...
*sigh* I am afraid that there is going to be TOO MUCH I will want to see and do in just 5 days. And of course, there is Athletic Bilbao vs Real Sociedad, a match I am hoping that we will be able to attend in San Sebastian. I will sell my soul to the devil if I have to, in order to obtain tickets. And a visit to Lezama, Athletic's training ground, is another must to fit in with the rest of my sightseeing. But I can't wait!
And after the Basque Country I am looking forward to visiting Berlin for some Christmas shopping and more good times.♥
