#1: AFTER CONSIDERING FOR AWHILE, I FINALLY SPLASHED OUT AND BOUGHT TICKETS TO MY FIRST INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY! YOU CAN LAUGH, BUT THIS MEANS A LOT TO ME BECAUSE I'VE NEVER BEEN TO AN INTERNATIONAL GAME. THE NT OF CANADA WILL BE PLAYING THAT OF PERU ON SEPTEMBER 4TH AT BMO FIELD IN TORONTO. Okay, I know both teams are NOT exactly Uruguay, Paraguay or Argentina, but they are still national teams, and they both have some interesting players. Anyway, it was my birthday present to myself. I'll probably go with my son Jamie. Since my birthday is so close to match date, it was my present to myself. The tickets were expensive, costing over $100.00 each, but I got fantastic seats...3rd row up at midfield!

This is not exactly the most important part of this entry but WHAT!? CISMA SIGNED FOR RACING?! When?! Ah. What? I really like those kits though, and Mallorca's a nice as well- I really like the orange and the white!

K, #1- *squee* What an awesome birthday present!! You'll have a blast, I'm sure.

#2- Yay Pedro León! I do like him :o) I'm kind of like, "Stop changing my team!" but he's cool. And the most I see the new kit, the more I like it. It looks great on him!

Hahaha. Yes, Cisma went from Almeria to Racing. There have been so many transfers already it's just crazy!

Well, I know they are NOT the world's best NTs but I am sure I'll enjoy it. And take lots of photos...we will be very close to the pitch!

Pedro Leon was terrific at Getafe (and nice eye candy) so I'm hoping that he'll fit in at RM!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Sami's signing!!!! :)

Ahhh...Jesus Datolo was the former Boca Juniors player who went to SSC Napoli and then posed for a gay men's magazine. He subsequently got in trouble with homophobic Napoli and was sent out on loan to Olympiacos last season. But Espanyol have now signed him on. Here's one of his photos from said gay mag:

Yay Int friendlies! I went to my first one this year too (NZ v Serbia) and it turned out to be a historic win for NZ.. awesome XD I hope you have as much fun as I did!!!

Also, good to hear about Datolo, hope he enjoys it there at Espanyol. I miss him in Boca! It's hard when so many players transfer all the time, but it's good for them/their careers so I guess I can't complain too much :) I like to see them doing well!!!

New Zealand has turned out to be a great team. You know what would be a fantastic friendly? New Zealand vs Uruguay. I'd pay even more to watch that one!

Yes, Pedro is one of those extremely attractive, extremely talented players who is electrifying to watch. When he's on the pitch you can't take your eyes off him. :)

I loved Datolo with Boca! Sometimes it's not a good idea to move, but perhaps things will be better for him at Espanyol.

Oh man.. That would be an amazing game!! Well you know what they've been saying on the news here, that they are definitely looking to South America, because it is much closer than Europe..... NZ seems to have more connections with Chile & Argentina, but Uruguay would be *so* * amazing*
I am looking forward to Boca vs Wellington Phoenix next week.... yes my trip just "somehow" *happens* to coincide with it LOL!!!!! I never thought I would see my two teams play each other!!! o.O;;

OMG...yes! Of course, Boca is in Australia as we speak! That is tremendously exciting for you. I felt the same way when Real Madrid came to Toronto last year for a friendly. River Plate too, and Benfica. Three of my favourite teams, all in one year! XD

YES!!! On September 4th. I do hope that the best players for Peru will be there! I just ADORE Paolo Guerrero.♥ But rarely did the players I most wanted to see end up coming for the other teams I've seen here: Real Madrid was missing Sergio Ramos, River Plate was missing ALL their 'bigger' stars, although Diego Buonanotte was there but did not play, Benfica was missing Pablo Aimar, Celtic was missing Aiden McGeady and Georgios Samaras, and Seattle Sounders' Fredy Montero was there but was only subbed on in the last 20 minutes! However, I am not complaining because there were many other 'big' stars at all those matches and they were all thrilling.
