I picked up this fantastically interesting meme from [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle. Could NOT resist it. Read on...

Are you a morning or night person?
For the past ten years or so I have been a morning person. I find that I no longer need an alarm clock to wake me up because I habitually awake around 6 a.m. no matter what day it is. More recently I've been waking up even earlier...around 4:30 a.m. If I can't go back to sleep I go downstairs, make coffee, have it with a bowl of cereal and an orange and then get on the computer.

What was your favorite childhood television program?
It would have to be the Mickey Mouse Club. My sister and I just loved that show.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Time travel. When I saw the movie "Jumper" I realized that's what I would LOVE to be able to do. Well, maybe that wasn't exactly time travel, but the ability to jump from place to place at will would be awesome.

What is usually your first thought when you wake up?
Usually..."Uuuurrrggghhh...what day is it? Do I have to go to work today?" LOL.

Are you a collector of anything?
Oh god. I am obsessed with collecting DVDs. Currently I have a thing for very weird horror movies. Before that it was Spanish-language films, particularly Argentine or Mexican. I also love china and glassware and have an extensive collection of china, particularly teacups and saucers.

What's your favorite animal?
Rabbits. I used to have rabbits as pets and thus fell in love with these sweet little creatures.

Do you believe in extraterrestrials or life on other planets?
I don't know. I'd like to say "yes", but I'm not convinced that this ever happens simultaneously. What I mean is that once a planet dies then I believe that life could begin elsewhere, but not that two planets could support life at the same time. I do believe that time and matter are combined somehow.

Do you believe in ghosts?
Yes! I have had some personal experiences, but the strangest thing happened to my husband when he was younger. He and a friend lived in the country and had to walk a few miles to school everyday, taking a short cut across an old, abandoned golf course. One day they were walking home when fog came up around them and they became disoriented. At one point the fog cleared and the boys saw an old log cabin with a woman standing on the porch. She was dressed in clothing from the late 1800s or early 1900s and was beckoning for them to come to her. Frozen with fear, they refused to do so, the fog came up around them again and eventually they found their way home. They both believe to this day that if they had gone to the woman they would have died. Since that occurrence they tried to find that log cabin again, but couldn't, and are convinced it was never there, except in the past.

You're given 1 million dollars, what do you spend it on?
Believe it or not, that is NOT a lot of money. I would buy a vacation home in Portugal's Algarve district or the south of Spain (Cadiz, probably). If my kids were interested in furthering their education, I would help them out. I'd probably spend some on upgrading my current house as well.

Have any bad habits?
Yes, I am too frivolous with money, wasting it too many times. I think I'm also too lazy in some ways, although I tend to be a bit hyper and over-achieve in certain things. But I'm not a big fan of housework so my place could be spotless if that's what I was into doing. But I'm not, so it isn't.

List 3 of your best personality traits:
Wow. This is difficult. First, I am even-tempered and slow to anger. I've made a good mediator because I have the ability to calm people down. Second, I am a "helper" type of person. I'm a good listener, I take care of the sick really well, and will help anyone who needs any type of assistance I can give them. Third, I am honest and would never cheat anyone. I don't even believe in using a cellphone at work because I think it's cheating my employer out of the time he's paying me to do the job.

List 3 of your worst personality traits:
One: I spend too much money. Two: I have a tendency to lie to protect myself. Three: I can procrastinate and lie around all day watching TV when I should be doing something else.

List 1 thing you wish you could change about yourself:
I had a naturally skinny build when I was younger, but hated it, so I forced myself to eat to "build myself up". It ended up giving me no end of stomach problems later in life and a constant battle to lose weight and get fit. So I wish I had left my naturally scrawny body alone.

What's the first thing you notice in the opposite sex people?
Definitely their smile and if it shows that they are easy-going and fun-loving.

What personality traits do you look for in a partner?
Kindness, good sense of humour, honesty, love of the outdoors.

What personality traits do you dislike in other people?
Greed, egotism, bigotry, temper.

Name 1 regret you have:
I wish I had furthered my education and taken a job that required me to travel. Like with the Peace Corps, Doctors Without Borders, something like that.

Name 1 thing you miss about being a kid:
Wow. One thing would be that tendency to just fly out the door in the morning during summertime, stay out all day playing with friends and returning for supper dirty, exhausted, and blissfully happy. I've always loved being outdoors. I swear I could live outside all day and only go inside to sleep. *sigh*

Name 1 thing you love about being an adult:
The ability to be able to tell other people what to do.

What's your favorite song of the moment?
It's "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees. Yes, I know it's old but I just heard it again recently and can't get it out of my mind.

What's your favorite song of all time?
"Free Bird" by Lynryd Skynryd.

What's your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?
Go out for dinner to a great restaurant, come home and watch a super film on DVD.

Have any hidden talents?
I'm very good at darts but I never play it anymore. *sigh* I haven't been to a pub in like, forever. I really miss it.

You're about to walk the green mile, what do you have as your last meal?
A huge Jamaican food spread and sample every delicious dish before I walk the mile. There is no such thing as "bad" Jamaican food, man!

What would be your dream job?
A football scout. Travel the world, check out tons of hot little Latino numbers around 20 years old, get to be outdoors most of the time. Jeez. What a life.

Which would you rather have: 100 million dollars or true love?
Holy shit. If I had to make a choice, I'd go for the money!

Name 1 thing not many people know about you:
I am claustrophobic.

Do you believe in the afterlife?
I WANT to believe there is reincarnation. It is such a lovely idea...kind of the perfect thing, actually. I do hope it turns out to be true. XDDD

I need to read your answers! I need to catch up again on all the LJ posts I want to comment on. Lately I've been so busy... :(

Yeah, the ghost stories are pretty spooky. My husband and his friend were in high school when they saw the apparition. Probably about 14 or 15 years old. It still bothers them to this day. But it wasn't the only experience they had. Another one involves a ouija board. They and two other friends were playing with it when something scared one of them and he knocked the board onto the floor. The boys went out to do something else and when they came back to the house, the board had been replaced on the table. Yet nobody was home and after questioning everyone who lived there, they discovered that no one had come into the house while they were gone.

There have been other things that happened too.

A job that requires traveling would be incredibly wonderful for me. I'm the type of person (nomadic I guess) who finds it hard to settle in one place. I love the outdoors and I love to keep moving. :)

Though I don't like the outdoors much and will ever prefer a nice hotel to a tent or something like that, lol, I'm just as restless. The idea, that I could travel every vaccation if I don't waste my money in every day life, makes me smile and makes it so easy for me not to buy whatever I'd like to have. This love for getting to know new places is probably also why I'm not sure if I took the right job. Once I'm in public service (which can happen but isn't sure), I'd earn a lot more money than a regular teacher (that's why every teacher wants it...) but then I won't be able to live abroad anymore, at least it will be VERY hard. So I'm a bit meh about my future and don't really know what I want... *shrugs*
I already have plans for almost all vaccations until I'm done with my teachers training, though... lol.. I love to travel and only a week after I returned from Spain, I was searching for the next flights. Oh and I love planes, too. :D (With my social study class (only the future teachers, no kids), we'll go to the airport in June and do some 'work' there... I'm so looking forward to it, will probably be really intersting. You know, getting to know what you could do with a class of kids there... soooo cooooool. (Ok, I stop now, I started to ramble... sorry!)
