Yesterday, Club Atletico River Plate, one of the biggest teams in Argentina and the world, returned to the top flight after a long season of playing a brutal 38 games in the 'B'. Emerging as the top team in the league, River gets an automatic promotion, instead of having to play a relegation/promotion match. Yesterday River beat Almirante Brown by 2-0 on two goals by David Trezeguet, one of four former players to return to the team from elsewhere in the world in order to help their team back to the 'A'. The plan succeeded, so a very special CONGRATS for David Trezeguet, Chori Dominguez, Fernando Cavenaghi and Leo Ponzio for helping to make it happen! Also congrats to new coach and former player from just last season (!) Matias Almeyda, for doing a fantastic job in inspiring his team to success. I'm sure it was tough going and a very hard year. You can see all the emotion on the faces of the players in the following photos. I am only going to show photos of the aftermath, instead of the match itself.
