A TALE OF TWO CUTIES

These two guys play for two of my favourite football (soccer) teams. And I am probably crazy, but for me they have a few similarities, despite being from different countries, playing different positions and playing in two different leagues.

First: Atsuto Uchida, Japanese, Born March 27, 1988, 5'9" tall and plays right back (#22) for Schalke04 in Germany.



Second: Fredy Montero, Colombian, Born July 26, 1987, 5'9" tall and plays forward (#17) for Seattle Sounders in the MLS.

some really good news for a change

Because of the sorrow and tragedy that occurred yesterday when Italian football player Piermario Morosini collapsed and died in the middle of a match, I was happy today when I came across an article about someone who has recovered from a horrible accident.

Salvador Cabanas is a Paraguayan footballer born August 5th, 1980, who was shot in the head in Mexico City in January 2010, age 29, while he was with his wife in a nightclub. At the time he was playing for Mexican Club America. The bullet was not removed, and after a long period of recovery, Salvador has returned to Paraguay to play with his new team, 12 de Octubre. He was a prolific goalscorer for club and country. In 2007 he was the top goalscorer in the Copa Libertadores with 10 goals.

benfica wins portuguese league cup!

Congrats to Benfica. Last year this went to FC Porto. It's always nice to see a change at the top every once in awhile! :)
