Matias Almeyda has been unanimously selected to be River Plate's new coach. I'm so glad he will remain with the team. There had been rumours that he would retire, but I had hoped he would remain with the team, and this is wonderful news. Daniel Passarella will be the club's president.
A new era begins.
Below the cut is some information about the upcoming season for River: the other teams who will be with them in the 'B', some info on how this league differs from the Primera A, and there is an excerpt from the pages of 'Infierno Rojo', an Independiente fansite. Wise words, from some fans who did NOT wish this on one of their fellow 'Big Five' clubs.
