FOOTBALL MEME - DAYS 17 AND 18
May. 25th, 2011 06:19 amYesterday I missed making my post, so here are two days' worth:
Day 17 – Name a transfer that has broken your heart.
David Beckham to the MLS! At that time Real Madrid was my top favourite team. I loved the way the team was then, and Becks was a large part of it. First, the fallout with Coach Fabio Capello (which I never understood). I believe this fueled Beckham's desire to leave. It just broke my heart. In my view, Becks is a valuable player on many levels...the top two being that he brings a unique talent to any team, as well as being a genuinely good person. :( The MLS season is short, and Becks really wanted to play for England again, especially in the recent World Cup. So he went out on loan to AC Milan while the MLS season was in hiatus, but he got injured and was only able to go to South Africa as an advisor. And for me, Real Madrid has not been the same since he left.
Day 18 - Favourite footballer bromance?
Hahaha. That would have to be Maxi Moralez and Sebastian Dominguez of Velez Sarsfield in Argentina. Maxi is little (very little) and Seba is a big, strapping defender. But Maxi sometimes wears Seba's shirt to practice, and there is undeniable affection between them on the pitch at times. (That's them in my icon.) :)
