I'M IN BILBAO!

What an adventure so far, but not the way I'd have wanted it. Point form, because I'm too tired to post, really. I need to sleep about 10 hours.

The flight from Toronto to Paris was really good. Everything went smoothly, the food was good, the person sitting beside me was not annoying, etc., etc.

But all hell broke loose once I hit Paris. Of course, to compound things, I hadn't slept on the plane at all and it was a 7-1/2 hour flight. Left at 7 PM got into Paris at 2:30 AM our time, 8:30 AM Paris time!

THEN...

- my flight to Bilbao was cancelled! (Too snowy in Paris.)
- next flight was leaving 3 hours later but I could only get a standby ticket.
- I made damn sure I got myself on that plane! I got myself a free lunch out of it too. XD
- the plane I got on left about 15 minutes late but then STOPPED on the RUNWAY to get de-iced, causing another half-hour delay!
- I slept through the entire flight. Think I snored too, because the guy in front of me turned and looked at me annoyed one time, the other time I woke myself up with a jolt and that usually only happens when I'm sawing the logs pretty good. XD
- I missed getting a snack on that flight because I was asleep. Heh. That was probably my punishment for all the snoring!
- once in Bilbao I went to get my luggage...waited an hour. No suitcase! I FREAKED. ALL my stuff was in it! My new camera! My Xmas presents for the friends I am gonna meet!
- luckily I went for help rather than leaving and trying to complain online later, because a very nice girl told me that because mine had been an international flight, my bag went to another carousel! See, I has followed the other people off my plane down to the baggage pickup and they all got theirs, so I thought mine was lost! *facepalm*
- next, I decided to grab a cab from the airport to the hotel. It had been suggested that I take the bus, but I was knackered, stressed, dirty, feeling like shit, it was pouring rain in Bilbao and I just didn't want to lug my 50-lb. suitcase around in the rain on and off buses!
- so of course, he takes Santo Domingo and it suddenly STOPS TO A CRAWL because an ACCIDENT just happened ahead!!!! *headdesk* It took an HOUR to get to the hotel! You will know, drbillbongo how long it usually takes, compared to THAT! Holy frig, I guess I should be happy that I am still ALIVE today! LOL.

Anyway, I was too tired, dirty, feeling like shit to do anything at all outside (besides, it's raining too) so I thought I'd buy me some Wi Fi time and get on the laptop, send some e-mails, make this post, etc.

And hey...Bibao is a gorgeous place, even in spite of the rain and everything that happened today. I can't wait for tomorrow, to go exploring! :)
