SOME OBSERVATIONS
Sep. 20th, 2010 09:10 pmI'm still suffering from the virus that hit me last week. I'm feeling okay except for prolonged fatigue and this damn photophobia! I literally cannot sit in front of the computer staring at things because any kind of bright light just kills my eyes. They get itchy, watery and then start to sting so that I can't keep them open. And going outside is impossible without sunglasses. :(
Even watching TV on the weekend was hard. I had to keep turning away and closing my eyes for periods of time.
But I made a couple of observations:
1. I am just LOVING Rafael Van de Vaart at Tottenham Hotspur! He's doing really, really well there - he seems to be the missing link in their puzzle - I mean they are an amazing team but were lacking something - a real set piece specialist and a guy who can play just behind the forwards. Spurs didn't have that guy...all their midfield players are extremely mobile and tend to start from farther back on the pitch and make all these runs. Anyway, not to get too technical because I don't fully understand all that stuff anyway -- Rafa is a Spurs revelation and I'm so happy they got him!
2. What is Wigan's problem? They better get their act together and soon or they'll be relegated and I don't want to see that. They are my favourite hopeless team of ALL hopeless teams on the planet. :(
3. Wow. Sporting Gijon and Athletic Bilbao gave us the match of the week in La Liga, IMO. And that's the SECOND exciting match that Athletic Bilbao have given us. Last week's game against Atletico Madrid was a cracker as well. :)
4. Newcastle United is another exciting team. They have some really good players, have just signed Hatem Ben Arfa and of course, they have the amazingly talented and GORGEOUS, sexy Andy Carroll. Their matches are must-sees. XD
5. WTF is happening in the Bundesliga (Germany) and Ligue 1 (France) this season? The planets are very much out of alignment so far! :(
6. I could not watch any matches online this weekend because of my dodgy eyes. But I am very happy for San Lorenzo making it to the top of the Argentine league. :) Congrats.
7. I am also very happy for Seattle Sounders and Fredy Montero for doing so well in the MLS.
8. I am ecstatic that Atletico Nacional has been doing so well in Colombia. You GO guys and try to get ahead of that Santa Fe team! And Junior (facepalm) please try to get your act together so you can make the playoffs! :(
9. OMG, I watched the Botafogo game again on TV Saturday night against Cruzeiro! Wow, what a team! And I never thought I'd say that about a Brazilian team, but my god...Loco Abreu is such a big star there! He's been GREAT! And some of their other players are very, very interesting indeed. XD
10. I have a number of picspams to do...things to catch up on...other stuff regarding my comms...I'm just useless of late and can't manage a damn thing except the odd short post like this one. :(

And in real life...my husband rescued a baby rabbit from the cats, who had it cornered in the back yard. It's now living in the sunroom. It not only survived but is growing on the food I've been feeding it...oats, parsley, tender grass and dandelion leaves. It's still tiny but twice the size it was when we rescued it. It just fits into the palm of my hand. But it's wild and when it's bigger we'll have to let it go. It looks exactly like the pictures of Peter Rabbit from the child's book! So cute...I'll take some pictures of it soon. :)
