Over time I have had many favourite quotes, but I can't remember them now without going to a lot of trouble. So I have chosen a quote from something I read recently, from the book 'Naive: Super' by Erlend Loe. Even though it is a couple of sentences from a list, I still consider it to be one quote.
Here 'it' is:
From the chapter 'Paul', this quote is from the e-mail that Erlend sends to the scientist who has scared him so badly:
It is a list of questions, and the quote is my three favourite questions, starting with the best one:
3. Do you sometimes feel that everything you do is futile because the sun will be burnt out in five billion years?
9. I did not ask to be born. Neither did anyone else. The size and complexity of the universe makes me feel so small and free of responsibility. It makes me feel that the only meaningful thing to do is to try and have a good time.
10. Do you think that the human brain is capable of thinking an infinite number of thoughts?
I would recommend this book to anyone. It is quite small and I read it in a day. While the above quotes may make it sound quite serious, it is actually one of the funniest books I have ever read. It definitely was a 'feel-good' experience, guaranteed to lift the spirits.
