Well, this is interesting...now I understand why he decided to quit.

I just saw this on the news on TV. Bruno Marioni, who just retired from football, is interested in buying his old club FC Atlas of the Mexico Primera, along with a group of investors. At the same time, Rafael Marquez of FC Barcelona is also set to make a bid with his own group of investors.

México, 20 nov (EFE).- El delantero argentino Bruno Marioni ha hecho una oferta de compra por el Atlas del fútbol mexicano, por el que también puja un grupo encabezado por el defensa central del Barcelona Rafael Márquez, informa hoy la prensa local.

La oferta de Marioni, asociado con empresarios del estado mexicano de Jalisco, y la de los socios de Márquez reposan en la caja de seguridad de un banco a la espera de que la asamblea de socios de la institución mexicana se reúna, el 3 de diciembre.

El portal 'mediotiempo.com' confirmó la propuesta económica de Marioni, ex jugador del Boca Juniors y de los mexicanos Pumas, Atlas y Estudiantes, donde la semana pasada puso fin a su carrera como jugador.

El rival del grupo de Marioni en la puja por el Atlas, es el grupo que encabezan el defensa mexicano del Barcelona, Rafael Márquez con el cantante Alejandro Fernández y el empresario Guillermo Romo.

Márquez se hizo jugador en el Atlas, que lo traspasó al Mónaco francés, y Marioni jugó ahí hasta hace seis meses, cuando dejó a la institución por conflictos con el entrenador argentino Ricardo La Volpe, que también salió.

I have read Rafa Márquez and his inverstors want to buy Atlas but now Bruno Marioni too!
I guess Márqeuz will have the greater chance because he is Mexican!

I don't know! I think Bruno really loved Atlas and would like to live there. He is retired and can give it his full attention. Maybe he would like to be very much involved, like Roman Abramovich is with Chelski. Since Rafa Marquez just signed a new contract with Barca, he probably wants to play a few more years. Maybe they will give it to the guy who wants it more.

What am I saying? It will go the way I do NOT want, which would be NOT for Bruno!!! :(
