FOOTBALL PICSPAM
CONCACAF OLYMPICS 2012 QUALIFYING
Well, it's over. Done and dusted. Canada didn't make it. Of course, that was a given considering that our boys had to play the formidable Mexico in the semi-finals. However, we did a GREAT job and the game ended 3 - 1. We created several chances but the ball didn't want to go in the net, and we made a couple of defensive errors that resulted in at least one Mexican goal. Oh, well. Our boys proved that they are a fantastic team, and although it was an Under-23 team, most of the players were 21, with some 18 and 19 year olds in the mix. One player, Bryce Alderson, just turned 18 in February.
So Mexico and Honduras, being the two finalists, will be going to London in the summer as representatives of North and Central America. Good luck to them.
In the final, Mexico beat Honduras 2 - 1. It didn't mean anything, but the result seems fitting.
Of course, I have pictures:
Mexico with the tournament trophy:

Evan James (21) and Shaun Saiko (22) of Canada.

More here...
Some of our Canadians:
Michael Misiewicz, Goalkeeper

Russell Teibert, Left Back (my favourite player - just a huge heart to match his talent)

Ashtone Morgan and Matt Stinson (of Toronto FC)

More of Evan James, Forward

Matt Stinson, Defender

Lucas Cavallini, Forward
Now, this guy is interesting, and a real character. He is of Uruguayan descent, born in Canada, and plays in the Uruguayan Primara with Nacional de Montevideo.♥

Marcus Haber, Forward

Shaun Saiko, Midfielder

Sherif El-Masri, Forward
