Shocking results again today. For England it was more about what they didn't do, compared to Algeria, who had a decent game considering the 0 - 0 tie. England has only scored ONE GOAL so far in the WC.

Another shocking result. Klose was sent off, Poldi's penalty was stopped and Serbia won 1 - 0.

The USA has proved more than anything that they are a fighter, battling back from 2 - 0 down to tie the score.

In 2006 this distinction was given to Roque Santa Cruz of Paraguay. Roque is in the running again and could very well win it a second time. But he is up against some tough competition. I have taken the liberty of scrutinizing each team for good-looking players and have tried to come up with only one per team. This is difficult with some teams who have several hot players. If I have chosen someone you disagree with, please tell me who you think is hotter and I'll add that player to this picspam. I am only going to post one photo of each of my first choices. I don't think there is a clear choice for an overall winner, but I'll post my own personal 'Top Ten' at the end of this entry. Teams are in order of their appearance at the World Cup.

Who do you think are the scariest referees so far? For me it's Howard Webb (England), Wolfgang Stark (Germany) and Roberto Rossetti (Italy). I think it's because they dish out a lot of cards, are extremely impartial and thus impossible to predict. I think that's what scares me the most. Sometimes these referees seem "bigger" than the game itself.

OK, is this wrong? I was recently watching The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian with my youngest. When I saw Ben Barnes I became interested. Later on I watched the film Easy Virtue, starring Ben, and became enamored. Sure, he was born 20 August 1981 (making him quite a bit younger than me), in London, England. He has been Dorian Gray, which I haven't seen yet, and Locked In, as well as Stardust in 2007, which I haven't seen either.
