This Friday, August 8th, I am going to a preseason friendly game here in Toronto between two South American teams:
Millonarios of Colombia vs Barcelona Sporting Club of Ecuador
Both are really good teams in their respective countries, but I didn't know that much about them. Fortunately, GOLTV has shown a couple of their league games during the past couple of weeks, so I have been able to familiarize myself with each team.
My favourite team in Colombia (and one of my world favourites - they are very exciting to watch) is Deportivo Cali, and 'Millos' has recently transferred a forward, Milton Rodriguez, from Cali. He's an experienced player whom I liked a lot at Cali. They also have Leonardo Castro, an exciting young goalscorer.
However, I am more excited about Barcelona of Ecuador. (Even though we will be sitting on the Colombian side!) Barcelona has two Argentine players: Rolando Zarate, who used to play for Real Madrid and has been transferred from River Plate, and Marcos Mondaini, a hottie who comes in from Boca Juniors. They also have a cute GK named Pablo Santillo, and an exciting new forward, Pablo Palacios.
The Ecuadorian league is a good one, with LDUQ, one of their teams, winning the Copa Libertadores this year. So I am quite excited about seeing this game. It should be good!
Here is a picspam of some of the players I will be seeing, below the cut:
