SERGIO ROMERO: THE REPLACEMENT GOALKEEPER DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB!

Sergio Romero was fantastic last night. (LOL. I mean in goal. I wouldn't know about anything else. XD) Becoming the No. 1 goalkeeper because of an injury to Osky Ustari, he did a damn fine job. Quite perfect, in fact, along with the stunning Argentine defense, in order to stop an onslaught of attacks from a very good Nigerian squad.

SERGIO ROMERO - SHOTSTOPPER EXTRAORDINAIRE!

That's him at the back, going to hug Nicolas Pareja.

Here he is on the podium with Lionel Messi.

He is the shirtless one in this celebration pic. (Now I know who took their shirt off. I glimpsed it at the end of the game.XD)

With his height (6' 3-1/2") he can reach above the manpile. LOL.

His hair! LOL.

Romero was just AWESOME in the two games I watched. He didn't make one single mistake. And he's only Alkmaar's second goalie? Hard to believe, isn't it? :) Anyway, I'm so proud of him and I hope he'll play for Argentina a lot more often. That boy has talent. :)

Yeah, I agree. Romero is one awesome GK. I bet AZ gets a lot of offers for him now. Basile (if he is still the senior Argie NT's coach) should call up most of the players from the Olympics, if he wants to regain the No. 1 spot in the WC qualifying from Paraguay.
