south american qualifiers for world cup 2014

I don't know when I've been more excited. My favourite National Team, Colombia, was magnificent yesterday in defeating the Uruguayan team, who is one of the best in the world, by a score of 4-0.

Here are some beautiful photos from the match.

Some entertainment before the match started. (Colombians just love to party, in case anyone was not aware of that.) ;)

Pretty cheerleaders.

A great victory for Colombia!
I'm sad for the Uruguayans and I don't understand what happened....

An inform playing Falcao has a great impact on the team and it looks like Teo is in great form too. I hope the can win on Tuesday vs Chile too.

Such an exciting victory for Colombia on so many levels. First, I have loved the team for a long time, as you know. Win or lose, they are MY team. Next, they have not been in the WC since I think 1998--a very long time. This time they may have a chance, but it's a long qualifying process and anything can happen, like it did last time. But I will support them no matter what. I love the happy, sunny, partying Colombian people! Not the druggies or the gangsters (thankfully there are not that many of them anymore). These are a people given to PASSION! And of course, I am happy for the beautiful boy on my bus that must be overjoyed right now!

Falcao is on fire! But I almost hate that because I have liked/loved him for so long and now I have to share him with everybody else in the world. I am a lover of the underdog and now Falcao is no longer that! I preferred it when he was 'undiscovered' like Fredy Montero is now. :(

And the rumours have him going to Real Madrid next year but I am afraid of that because it might ruin him. But if it does happen I hope he can spread some of his "Colombianism" to the club and make it BETTER. Maybe they will get rid of the pouty, crying baby and the ugly Frenchman and they will be nicer to watch as a team again!

Teo played so well I think because he was at home, playing in Junior's stadium! But I hope it gave him some confidence and he will go to Chile and score again. I hope they beat Chile because I saw an interview with the Chile coach and he said, "We have better strikers than Colombia does!" WHAT AN ARSEHOLE! I hate them more and more and more....

At least Tabarez had the grace to say that he was a bit wary of what Colombia could do. Poor Uruguay! But I got this sinking feeling the last few times they played that they have not been playing well! It seems that they might have peaked at the Copa America after the WC and have been going downhill since then. They didn't do well at the U-20 WC nor the Olympic qualifying and so it seems they are not bringing up their young players the right way. We know they have a lot of great players there! But something does not seem to be working atm. Maybe that will change soon. There is a very long way to go!

I think Colombia finally played like they CAN play. Beautiful football!

It will always be the same way :(

I hope he will never go to that shithole club. I would hate every player even when I loved him to pieces before...

It was not good for Teo to leave Colombia. It looks as if he has to stay in Barranquilla for his best football!

Looks like Uruguay has some major problems! Some 'older' players are not on their best anymore! Some young players are not yet good enough... we will see what will happen with the team.

Even though I support Uruguay, congratulations to Colombia on a great victory.

I like Uruguay too, but Colombia has been my favourite team for a long time. And since they have not gone to the WC since 1998 I'd be happy to see them go in 2014. I know they have a plethora of excellent players right now, so maybe this is their time. There is still such a long way to go in the seemingly endless qualifiers.
