MISSING OUT X 2
There are two sporting events taking place in Toronto this week:
(1) The Masters tennis tournament.
(2) MLS All-star game vs West Ham United.
(1) I work above a Second Cup coffee shop - it's kind of the equivalent of a Starbucks. On Monday I was running late so I didn't stop for a coffee before I went upstairs to work. But I went down later for a coffee break, only to find that Chazz, the owner, had posted a sign that he was giving away FREE tickets to the Masters. For Monday at 11:00 a.m. I checked my watch and it was 11:45 already. That was my missed chance for the tennis tournament. Poops. I would have cut work to go, if I'd known!
(2) West Ham United is here to play the MLS all-star team in Toronto on Thursday (tomorrow). When I first heard about this months ago, I started to dream about getting tickets for the game. I salivated at the thought of seeing Freddie Ljungberg, Lucas Neill and David Beckham in person! So I checked out ticket costs and discovered that they are only selling a package - which consists of a ticket to Thursday's game, plus a party pass for tonight, where you can mix and mingle with the players amid drinks & eats. For $192.00 apiece. (That's not too bad.) I would have taken Olivia with me, since she is a man-magnet.
However, I procrastinated, dragged my feet, and didn't get it done in time. So we're not going and I am disgusted with myself. I haven't done a damn thing this summer and feel now like I have the summertime blues. Apathy and ennui are setting in along with dreadful allergies this year, making me the world's biggest party pooper and in a foul mood a lot of the time, which isn't me.
Last year at this time I was looking forward to going to Spain & Portugal in September, so I was motivated to exercise, lose weight, buy some new clothes, get my hair done and just enjoy life in general. This year I find it hard to haul my ass off the couch and I pretty much hate myself. My house is a mess and I haven't done one thing worthwhile in any meaning of the word, for weeks now.
I hate myself. :(
Here are some pics of what I've missed this week. *sigh*
This is Marat Safin of Russia.

Novak Djokovic.

A Canadian! Frank Dancevic.

Fernando Verdasco. Yes, I am Spanish, therefore I am emo.

Igor Andreev of Russia.

And *sigh* the footie players I'll not be seeing.
David Beckham.

Anton Ferdinand and Lucas Neill.

West Ham goalkeeper James Walker.

A West Ham puppy named Jack Collison.

Another puppy named Tony Stokes.

Ah, well. I think I would have been more motivated if Real Madrid had come. Or if the Argentine National Team was playing a friendly against Canada. ROFL - like that will ever happen!

I'm not usually like this. I'm always happy. LOL.
Mmmm, yeah. Fernando Verdasco is rather fascinating, for his yumminess and all the emo stuff. I seriously should gather all the pics I can find of him and do a picspam.

Thanks for your well-wishes. I don't think the allergies will go away until winter comes and I don't want to wish for that too soon!
