At the beginning I was impressed by Scolari's line-up. I thought it was very clever of him to show right off the bat that he means to take no prisoners on this campaign! All experienced veterans except for the delightful Joao Moutinho, wearing No. 10 and playing alongside Deco. Brilliant! And Jose Bosingwa started at right back, with Paulo Ferreria at left back.

One of the watchable things about Portugal is their very tight, flimsy kit. It emphasizes their superfit bodies. I love it.

Nuno Gomes was captain. He is one hot captain. When the ref was talking to the two captains before the game started, Nuno and Emre, Nuno was fixing his shorts. Loving it.

I didn't like the way some of Fandel's calls were going. A Turkish player was not penalized for taking a dive just outside the box, Pepe's goal was called for offside when it didn't look offside at all (except it did in replay), and Bosingwa got penalized for a dodgy foul IMO.

The Turkish team is pretty good, although Portugal certainly dominated as far as possession and shots on goal went.

Pepe is looking very impressive. And Deco has made some beautiful plays. CRonaldo got to make one particularly brilliant run.

LOL. When the cameras panned the sub bench, the players were all chewing gum. They blew fierce-looking bubbles and chewed really fast like they were all hyper. Some knees were pounding up and down. It's nice to see when players all want to play really bad.

Whoa. Is Nuno Gomes ever pretty. They keep showing extreme closeups of him. I also notice one of the Turkish players: Gokhan Zan, #4. Hmm. He's pretty hot.

Pepe finally gets his goal at 61 minutes in. He is the Man of the Match for me.

Nuno Gomes is subbed off at 68 minutes (awwww....) and Nani comes in. Nuno was very unlucky, hitting the post three times. I guess that was his woodwork hat-trick. LOL.

But how good has Pepe been, seriously? Turkey simply cannot get anything past the man! Hooray for the Real Madrid guy!!!!

And Raul Meireles, Scoloari's puppy, scores off a series of nice passes, in injury time.
