SOME INTERESTING TIDBITS

I just received my July issue of FourFourTwo magazine, which was pretty much pre-World Cup. But it has some interesting tidbits that I thought I'd share in case some of you haven't seen it.

1) In 'They Said What?' - This from Javier Mascherano of Liverpool FC: "Emilio Insua and I live in a private neighbourhood. He lives in one tower and I live in the other. There are 15 metres between us and we used to look at each other through the window."

2) A German professor has come up with a mathematical equation that predicts Germany will win the WC. This is it: P(n)=(meanP-1/2).cos(2pi over N n)=Germany wins.

3) Several players were interviewed about what they would do if their team won the World Cup. Diego Forlan had the longest answer. LOL. Here it is:

"It would be the biggest party the city (Montevideo) has ever seen. It would last for one week! At the end, I would treat all of my friends and family to a trip wherever they wanted to go in the world - which would probably be Punta del Este in Uruguay, where the party would continue. The most difficult part of being a South American footballer is that we are far away from our families in Europe. Winning the World Cup would give me an excuse to spend more time with them."

And one last curious thing about Uruguay: the importance of the "zeros".

1930 - Uruguay won the World Cup
1950 - Uruguay won the World Cup
1980 - Uruguay won the 'Mundialista' - a tournament of the previous World Cup champions
2000 - Uruguay adopted their present kit
2010 - Semifinals or ???

Have a good day everyone! :)

Emiliano Insua and I live in a private neighbourhood. He lives in one tower and I live in the other. There are 15 metres between us and we used to look at each other through the window."

LOL...I wonder if Masche knew exactly how that would sound when he said it? Hahahahahaha!

I DIED LAUGHING when I read that in Diego Forlan's statement! OF ALL the places in the WORLD that his friends/family would choose, WHY OF ALL PLACES Punta del Este?????? Hahahahahahaha!!!!!

I mean, Punta del Este is a very pretty place but I HATE IT. It's full of snobs. Rich, disgusting argentines go there, ugh. Lately, it's also been getting a lot of disgustingly rich Brazilians and Paraguayans. YOU SHOULD SEE THEIR CARS. OMG. IT'S DISGUSTINNNG /RAGE

LOL. Well, I guess the guys could have a great party there when they go home, then. I guess if everyone is shit-faced drunk then they won't care where they are!

Mascherano's story is cool! They could have moved in together... ;)

How I hate this 'mathematical' stuff they do here in Germany. After each match, before each tournament, they come up with who knows what... and I'm only rolling my eyes. You could probably do the same with every other team, too. Like what you put there for Uruguay in the end. It's similar, we've had that for Germany too a couple of weeks ago. *sigh*

I want to party with Diego! Sounds like so much fun!!! And it makes me lol that he thinks, if he'd invite them to whereever they wanted to, they'd still stay in Uruguay xD Hilarious.

I thought that was so funny too! That of all the places in the world, they would choose a tiny, unexciting place like that!

Let's have a BIG party!!!

Oooh, interesting! :D

Love the first quote. Sadly this is not true anymore. Why did Emiliano have to leave? :(((

Don't understand that mathematical equation or how it's supposed to mean that Germany win the World Cup, and also it's obviously not a good equation, but it does intrigue me. XD

AH, FORLÁN. You are too awesome for this world. (And WTF, Punta del Este in Uruguay? There are so many great places in this world and they decide to stay in their own country? XDDDD)
