WHO WILL WIN 'MOST ATTRACTIVE FOOTBALLER' AT THIS WORLD CUP?

In 2006 this distinction was given to Roque Santa Cruz of Paraguay. Roque is in the running again and could very well win it a second time. But he is up against some tough competition. I have taken the liberty of scrutinizing each team for good-looking players and have tried to come up with only one per team. This is difficult with some teams who have several hot players. If I have chosen someone you disagree with, please tell me who you think is hotter and I'll add that player to this picspam. I am only going to post one photo of each of my first choices. I don't think there is a clear choice for an overall winner, but I'll post my own personal 'Top Ten' at the end of this entry. Teams are in order of their appearance at the World Cup.

*LOLOLOL*

I can only agree with very few!

Roque Santa Cruz! Glen Johnson! Maybe Matias Fernandez! But the 'hottest' is Sebastian Abreu!!!

Do you think the guys from Korea are hot? Or did you want one from every team?

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!

It is really hard to pick just one from each team!

NO, I do NOT think the Korean guys are hot at ALL! But I had to pick one from each team! However, the Japanese guy IS hot (well, cute) but I couldn't find a really good large pic of him!

I couldn't choose between Mati and Speedy but I couldn't find any really good NEW pics of Speedy! Damn him for playing in Russia!

Yes, I could have picked El Loco for Uruguay but I have been impressed by pics of Lugano recently. There could be votes for more than one guy per team!

I will add Seba Abreu to the post! :)

[identity profile] aglaiya.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't have to add a player!
I say only what I think and other people have other taste and that's okay!

But I had to pick one from each team!

Right! You had to! *lolozzzzzzzzzzzz*

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe I am losing my mind! I make up my rules for my own posts and then stick to them like a fanatic! And when nobody else responds to them anyway! LOLOLOLOLOL!!! Well, YOU usually do, and I didn't mean that you are 'nobody'! Hahahahaha!

[identity profile] aglaiya.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Hon you can do it all!
Wait a bit and more users will answer. Now is PLAYTIME!!!

And for sure we all have a different taste!

I forgot NICKLAS!!!!! HE SCORED!!!!!

Winston Reid is hot too but he has no chance because nobody knows him!

NICKLAS!!!!!
HE SCORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥

Thank you for your kind words.
It is GOOD to have different taste! Mine leans more to dark, exotic, and something different about the guy!

[identity profile] aglaiya.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
We are going other ways.... your taste is changing.... that's very good! I have all my babies for me!!!

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I think a few people DID notice Winston Reid! Hahahaha.... :P

[identity profile] aglaiya.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Good to know!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/southerncross_/ 2010-06-19 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Roque! ...but I'm pretty biased. ;)

Bocanegra, Aguero, Fernandez and Neil are also hot. (I feel like I find Winston Reid attractive only because he scored the huge goal for the All Whites'--how bad is that? hah!)

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Roque is stunning! He could very well dominate this competition until he retires from international football! Hahahaha.

Ahh! Winston Reid! It's because he took his shirt off and we got to see his body as well! But he does have a pretty face too! Long eyelashes and all...*sigh*

[identity profile] txorakeriak.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Just considering the pics you posted, I'd say Miguel Veloso. There are hotter guys than him at the World Cup, though - or at least to me there are. ;)

My favourites in each team:

South Africa: Steven Pienaar
Mexico: Guillermo Ochoa
Uruguay: Jorge Fucile
France: Yoann Gourcuff
Argentina: Martín Demichelis
Nigeria: Peter Odemwingie
Korea Republic: Park Chu-Young
Greece: Sotiris Ninis
England: Glen Johnson
USA: Carlos Bocanegra
Algeria: Karim Matmour (pictures don't do that man justice)
Slovenia: Zlatan Ljubijankič
Germany: Mario Gomez
Australia: Lucas Neill
Serbia: Gojko Kačar
Ghana: Hans Sarpei
Netherlands: Maarten Stekelenburg
Denmark: Nicklas Bendtner
Japan: Keisuke Honda
Cameroun: Nicolas N'Koulou
Italy: Claudio Marchisio
Paraguay: Jonathan Santana
New Zealand: Winston Reid
Slovenia: Stanislav Šesták
Brazil: Maicon
Korea DPR: uhm, none
Ivory Coast: none
Portugal: Miguel Veloso
Spain: haha, quite a lot
Switzerland: Valon Behrami
Honduras: none, really
Chile: Mark González

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-20 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Those are all really hot guys too! (All the ones that were different from mine.) It was really hard with some teams that have a LOT of good looking players! My first choice for Chile was Mark Gonzalez but there weren't very good pics of him. Recent ones anyway. Spain is impossible. Paraguay is almost 100% hot as hell! Some teams are kind of bereft of hot guys, so I chose the best one I could see. I guess there is no rule against choosing more than one from a team and none from some others!

I HEAR you re: Karim Matmour! And some of the others do NOT look as good in photos as they do in person! Or on TV! LOL. When I first heard Matmour's name I thought they were saying "Matt Moore". LOL.

i would agree on some candidacies at all, but i vote for Ricchi Montolivo, at least because he's azzurro)

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-20 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Montolivo is pretty cute!
I think they do these things by vote, so it'll be interesting to see who gets the majority of votes this year. :)

[identity profile] rocknrollapsara.livejournal.com 2010-06-20 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
i hope that'll be someone from la squadra azzurra)

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-06-20 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. You never know...it could be! :)

[identity profile] rocknrollapsara.livejournal.com 2010-06-20 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
hopefully)

oh there are some good choices here.
But I can't help thinking someone is missing. Couldn't tell you who though.
thanks for sharing.

Thanks!
Well, I have 32 candidates (33 with adding Abreu) so there is one for each team. However there could be lots more candidates in this. I just chose one per team, but some teams have way more than one hottie!

[identity profile] wildmopdogs.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Heey I like that Slovenian guy! Did he play? I don't remember seeing him or hearing his name

Awwww that Japanese guy is the new Schalker
Unfortunately, they booted Rafinha *cries*

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeahhh...the Slovenian guy played! He was hotter than on the picture! :)

The Japanese guy, really? He's gorgeous! :P

They booted Rafinha? I read that Rafhina said he couldn't tolerate Magath's hard-nosed policies! Is that not true? I'm shattered...I LOVED the little Brazilian! :(

[identity profile] wildmopdogs.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"I read that Rafhina said he couldn't tolerate Magath's hard-nosed policies! Is that not true?"
Yeah, he said that, and I agree with him 100%
And it's not just the Brazilians. You can see from the training pictures that even the Germans aren't smiling as much or having fun during training since Magath came along, when compared to the pictures from previous seasons. :(

But in the case of the Brazilians, it's sad for another reason: that's their trademark! They enjoy playing football and do it with pleasure; that's their style. Why dampen their style if it works?

And Rafinha was one of the best lateral defenders in the league :( Games were really different when he couldn't play, and you can tell they're really missing him now - he made a difference, and you can tell he's gone.

They got rid of Bordón too, and Benni and Metzelder are really not understanding each other on the pitch (of course, off the pitch it's all peachy! :p); with Bordón, Benni & he really clicked. I hope they can sort that out amongst themselves.

All in all, they've sold or let go of 20 players.

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
WOW.

First of all, I ADORE your icon! It's hilarious. I died. XDDD

Awww...I am SO SAD to hear about Rafinha. I agree he was a GREAT player and will be missed... :(

I'm also sad about Kuranyi and Bordon and all the rest.... :(

But I'm really eager to watch Schalke play because I'm so obsessive I think I can watch and figure out myself what's wrong! No, I really love to do this and try to analyze what the team is all about, what they lack and what they are good at...it's my passion. XDDDD

[identity profile] wildmopdogs.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe Thanks XD Check out www.jogisloewen.de That's where I got it from. They have these really cute comics (in strip and video format)

I'm really sad about him too, he was one of my favorites :( And I really liked Bordon and Kuranyi as well. Westermann, well, I wasn't really attached to him; I'm fine with him going wherever, lol. (But that he's Hamburg's new captain? Now that's not fair to Hamburg, getting a newbie placed as their captain. o.O That's just wrong, dude, no matter who it is!)

Yes! :D I like doing that too, analyzing their play; seeing where each individual player's strengths and weaknesses are, who is better suited for what position, etc. Though the other day I had to tell myself not to do it because I just wanted to watch the darn thing! lol

[identity profile] just-jenni.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, thanks for the link! I love things like that. XD

Oh, no. There is no way Westermann should be Hamburg's new captain. That's just wrong! I'm sure there were better candidates. *facepalm*

LOL. Sometimes it's easy to go overboard with the analyzing. At one time I took notes during games and then realized I was missing too much action. Hahaha.
