EPL POST - WIGAN ATHLETIC - CLIMBING OUT OF RELEGATION ZONE
WIGAN!!!!
I bloody LOVE Wigan! I have always believed in them, although for a few years now they have been fairly hopeless. But they've always managed to display some last-minute heroics at the tail end of the season in order to stay up. And in the past they have always sold off their best players, i.e. Antonio Valencia, Wilson Palacios and others. But now they seem to want to hold onto the better players, like Victor Moses, Maynor Figueroa and Franco Di Santo. Striker Hugo Rodallega (currently injured) was rumoured in January to be leaving, but the player himself said he was loyal to his team and wanted to stay. I think this team inspires loyalty. They have never gone sack-mad on the manager. Roberto Martinez has been given the chance year after year to improve things, just as Sir Alex Ferguson was given years ago in order to turn Manchester United into one of the best teams in the world. Wigan always has played like the best teams, in the Spanish style, starting with short passing out of the back and intricate plays. They have lacked the big-scoring players, but seem to have found really decent form in the past few weeks.
Okay, so here are some photos of Wigan's last two matches. They defeated Manchester United on April 11th and defeated Arsenal on April 16th. Wigan has always been able to compete with the BIG teams. It's usually been the lesser teams, the ones who play a more defensive style, that have given them trouble.
Fuck yeah, Franco Di Santo!!!♥
