WHAT IS UP WITH MANCHESTER CITY? PICSPAM
I've been meaning to post an entry on Man City since for awhile they were on top of the table in the English Premier League and have since fallen to third place while playing consistently well and managing to stay in the top four. I think a lot of people are waiting for them to fall, but here's why I don't think they will.
One reason: Here's a hotpiece of ass new young player to watch: Right-back Vedran Corluka. Vedran would seem to share Milan Baros' uhhmmm...how should I say it...well-hung equipment? Hahahahaha....

I never get too deeply into the whys and wherefores and technical side of footie (because I am no expert, believe me) but I have been involved with American style baseball and football and know these two sports intimately because my son plays them. I used to be a scorekeeper for his baseball teams and assisted the coaches with my stats and observations. Therefore I understand how teams function as a unit and I understand why it is that athletes work well together.
So in point form, here is why I think Manchester City will remain a top team this season:
- Sven Goran Erickson: this is a coach who knows what he is doing and has hand-picked new players who play a similar style of football to each other.
- the team plays a flowing style of football which reminds me of Arsenal in some ways.
- while the players come from different countries in the world, they all seem to have the same kind of movement on the ball.
- the team's attitude has improved to the point that they play with joy and seem to want to win.
All of the above should enable them to maintain their good standing for the rest of the season. God, I hope I am right or I will look like an idiot.
Here is a picspam of some of their players. Mostly the new ones, and some of the old.
Number one for me: Vedran Corluka, right back and Croatian international. He is so hot he deserves his own picspam. Remember what I said about resembling Milan Baros.

Okay, now here is Georgios Samaras. He's hotter than hell, but he seems like a poser. I think he KNOWS how hot he is and instead of focusing on the game he always seems to be aware the camera is on him. He's a fine player but he needs to get over himself.

Rolando Bianchi, striker:

Michael Johnson, midfielder. Looks about twelve, but is immensely talented.

Kasper Schmeichel, goalkeeper. OH MY GOD. I have a thing for GKs that is ALMOST as strong as my thing for right backs!!! LOL.

Javier Garrido, left-back. Quiet but effective, this boy fits right into the new team.

Elano, a magnificent attacking midfielder/striker:

Lastly, Martin Petrov, the creative midfield ace that ManCity picked up from Atletico Madrid:

Okay, I cannot forget about Micah Richards, English international and outstanding centre half.

I know there are other players worth mentioning, but for me these are the key to the team. Plus Sven, of course, a brilliant coach.
