RANDOM STUFF

When I'm too tired to do anything else and feel like taking a nap I usually lie there and think for awhile before falling asleep. This is what I thought about right before my last nap:

1. I had recently bought an almond croissant from the cafe and brought it home. I thereupon decided to slice it open lengthwise and fill it with Nutella, spreading it on top of the almond paste filling that was already there. It was dusted on top with icing sugar and tasted delicious. However, if I have too many carbs I fall asleep and that is exactly what happened. Oh, and I will do 50 extra turns on my Ab Circle Pro the next time I use it. LOL.

2. I've been reading over some of my old unfinished Tolkien fanfic, Ilmare the Handmaiden in particular, in which the daughter of Manwe and Varda vehemently objects to her status in life. I am doing this with a view to finishing these stories and posting them in my [livejournal.com profile] celebrian_found journal. I am still shocked that Manwe and Varda would not include their son and daughter among the Valar, choosing to make them Maiar instead. And Varda deciding that Ilmare would be her handmaiden? Really! Do these people not know about teenage rebellion? They are the Valar, for Pete's sake!

3. I was trying to analyze Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid player by player to see if I could come up with an analytical approach to determining which team I think will win in their Champions League rounds. Would it surprise anyone that they came out even, with Spurs edging Real Madrid on defense and forward players, but Real Madrid winning on midfielders and coaching? Another method of determining the winner is to look at where each team stands in their respective league. This method would have Real Madrid coming out the winner (2nd place in the league) vs Spurs (5th place).

4. The Copa Libertadores is the BEST tournament ever! :) The Libertad (Paraguay) vs Once Caldas (Colombia) game was pure pleasure to watch. There is not one bad-looking player on Libertad. In fact, I have chosen Asuncion as my next vacation destination after another visit to Europe. It is a city of about 520,000 and 65% of the population is under 30. :)

5. Rugby is a very interesting sport. I was watching Wales vs France and was completely enthralled. Especially by #10 for Wales. :P

*sigh* You guessed right...I usually have trouble falling asleep. Not always, but if there is stuff on my mind, then it's brutal. Sometimes I can fall asleep OK if I'm tired, but then I'll awake during the night or early morning...not good! :(

Hahahaha...like you, I tend to make analyses of different things. Like figuring out player by player how Tottenham Hotspur stacks up against Real Madrid.

Haha...well, I was not exactly thinking of going to Paraguay until I watched a match being played at Club Libertad's stadium in Asuncion. So I looked up Asuncion on Wikipedia. It looked pretty interesting, but not really as interesting as Montevideo, Uruguay. Then I checked flights from Toronto to both places...even though Montevideo is farther away, it is cheaper to fly there. The best bet would be to fly to Montevideo and arrange some expeditions elsewhere, say, to Buenos Aires, Asuncion, maybe even Santiago, Chile. It would be an extremely interesting trip for sure, but it's probably years away for me!

Is it cheaper to fly direct to Buenos Aires and go to Uruguay from there? Buenos Aires is such a popular destination so it should have decent rates. The Toronto Star recently did a feature on Montevideo/Uruguay noting that you can take a high speed ferry ride between Buenos Aires to Montevideo - it only takes 2 hours and is relatively cheap. You could maybe start the trip in Buenos Aires and move on from there. My roommate and I are trying to plan a vacation something like that within the next few years.
