REAL LIFE UPDATE

I have been extremely, horrendously, frustratingly busy for the past week. There are many posts and things I need to catch up on, and will do so soon. Right now I am exhausted and will use today to watch football, tidy up the house a little bit and read some posts, e-mail, etc. Tomorrow I will begin to catch up by leaving comments and replying to different things, as well as go back to collecting photos and perhaps doing a few picspams.

I worked two shifts yesterday...my own as well as a coworker's who went up north to visit her family in Windsor, which is just north of Detroit, Michigan.
Olivia and Joseph left this morning to go back to Montreal. I will miss them horribly but they'll be back on November 10th, to stay for awhile (I hope through Christmas).
I am working on my travel plans to Europe. I should be leaving on December 1st and should be back around December 13th. Details to follow once I have finalized everything.

My most recent major purchase: an Amazon Kindle e-reader! I've been spending some time learning my way around this. I've bought a few books to read on it, like Never Let Me Go by Kasuo Ishiguro which I've just started, as well as some freebies, including a 25-language phrasebook which will come in handy when in Europe. :)

OK, I'll catch up with everybody soon, I promise!♥

*tsk* I forgot to talk about the e-reader!

I like it, although I still have to get used to it. But the Kindle seems to be user-friendly and easy to read from. You can adjust the size of the type if you need it larger, and you can also have it read the book to you if you're driving or whatever. And because it's so lightweight it's a lot easier to carry than a hardcover book.

It doesn't come with any accessories except a charger, so I had to separately order a cover, a holder, stand, booklight that clips on and earphones. But that whole package cost only $20 so it was OK.

Downloading books is easy. It works off of Wi-Fi so you can download them from the Kindle or you can use the computer, go to the Kindle Store and order them from there. They are sent immediately to your Kindle. It has a unique name and you need a password to get into it.

I know there are other e-readers as well. I think they're great so far. :)
