I just checked the mail today and your present still wasn't there. I wouldn't worry, though. If you sent it standard mail then sometimes it takes 6 - 8 weeks to arrive. I sent yours on December 2nd, and if you didn't send mine until December 12th then it may be a couple more weeks before I get it.

I know about the cost of mailing! It's horrible! I have sent something to someone express and it cost more than $50! But I could not risk that it wouldn't get there.

Please don't worry. I am sure it will arrive. I always insure my gifts, have never actually needed to because they all arrived, so I cannot believe that the ONE time an uninsured parcel is sent between the two of us it would get lost!

Let's hope not, and hopefully it will arrive very soon!

I sent a postcard to Argentina on the same day and it arrived today! Needless to say, that worried me even more. :( But a friend sent me a Christmas present from Vienna and that one hasn't arrived either, so maybe it's just the mail being a bit slower with parcels? I shall keep up hope.

OMG, $50??? That is horribly expensive!

*bites nails*

Yes, I believe the mail is much slower for parcels, so don't worry! I am sure it will get here!

Yes, well, I sent someone an older version of a club shirt and I got it for a steal on e-bay (for $40 instead of the usual $100 or so). So I figured if I sent it express and paid the $50 postage then I was still ahead of the game. If I'd bought a brand-new shirt instead of a used one then it would have been far too expensive to send the most expensive way and I would have worried for weeks that it got lost.

I usually send stuff using the method of having insurance that is free up to $100 gift value. The postage for that is mid-priced and around $20 depending on the weight of the gift. But for a rare shirt I wanted it to get there as quickly as possible and safely. In hindsight though, I would have been alright with the $20 method. *facepalm*
