CARNAVAL DE NEGROS Y BLANCOS

What is this??? What does this mean??? Well, literally, 'the carnival of blacks and whites', since 'negro' means black in Spanish. ;)

Don't worry...it's just a carnival held every year from January 2-7 in Pasto, Colombia, and has the distinction of being the largest and most important celebration in Southern Colombia.

It has also been proclaimed by UNESCO to be 'A Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity'.

If I lived in England, one of the things I would do for sure would be to support my local team in the FA Cup and try to attend as many matches as possible. It just looks like so much fun. We really don't have anything like it here.
