And to top it, the charge is "escaping from custody and possessing a controlled substance and weapon" which is bad, yes, but not bad enough to justify my having to wade through a swamp of cops just to walk the dogs - much less the police breaking into my house, etc.
Had to stop and think about this one, because "love the voice" is not high on my priority lists for songs I enjoy most. But for a long time, I listed my favorite type of music as "anything with a baritone voice and acoustic guitar."
What You Need | Dance Magic | I'm on Fire | Love Is Chemical | Holly Holy | Wherefore and Why | Stay Young | The Warrior | Rainy Days & Mondays | Delta Dawn | It's So Easy
( And one where the vocals are so pretty, I almost forget that I love the lyrics, too )
When asked how he's feeling, he said: "How do I look like I'm feeling? Relieved."
LOL, I bet!
Sanders read a statement from Trump at the press briefing this afternoon.
"I am grateful for Sean's work on behalf of my administration and the American people. I wish him continued success as he moves on to pursue new opportunities. Just look at his great television ratings," Trump said in the statement.
Dear god, it's like an Onion article, but more so. But listen, Trump, you wanna see great ratings? Just wait until Spicer publishes his salacious tell-all. Bestseller. (He better have a salacious tell-all in the works.)
I'm just disappointed that he made his decision first and then went on the air. I really was hoping to see him give up on national TV. Sigh.
Title: A Queen for the Fourth Age
Author: Kaylee Arafinwiel

B2MeM Prompt: “On silver necklaces they strung The flowering stars, On crowns they hung The dragon-fire, in twisted wire They meshed the light of moon and sun.” JRR Tolkien, The Hobbit
Format: Short story/chapter
Characters: Galadriel, Idril, Elwing, Nimloth, Faniel Finwiel, OCs
Creator’s Notes (optional): The Lindarin OCs are Fiondil’s, used with permission.
Summary: Some time (but not too long) after Idril welcomed Galadriel to Alqualonde, the two ellith – and two others – go to a favoured tavern for a drink, and fall in with…surprising company.
Creator’s Notes (optional): Inspired by Fiondil’s “Nightfall in Aman”, this is a reworking of my own “Silence Falls” written for B2MEM previously, and includes it.
Summary: Idril remembers, as she walks on the shore of Alqualondë.
Title: Morning Hath Broken 2/3, Doriath
Author: Kaylee Arafinwiel
Summary: Oropher remembers.
A/N: Emma and I place Oropher’s birth during YT 1499, at what would be 14,364 solar years – six “years” and less than one Valian year before the rising of the Moon and Sun. This would make him a little more than two and a half in human maturity.
Title: Morning Hath Broken
Author: Kaylee Arafinwiel
Summary: One fair morning in Harlindon, Oropher tells the story of the Iathrim's first sunrise to the most precious light of his life - his only remaining son.
A/N: For the prompt “'Boys, sound the bells, the sun rose from the west today. I doubt we'll see it set.' -Dessa, 'Sound the Bells'” given randomly by the Silmfic Prompt Generator, and the February Challenge “Revolution”. Also for Keiliss, for her birthday. An alternate POV of Fiondil’s “Arin Etarácië”, at least within the frame story. My atto indonyo told us how the Exilic Noldor in Fingolfin’s train saw the first Sunrise, as they stepped onto Ennorath’s shores. What of the Iathrim?
Vocabulary: All are Sindarin unless otherwise noted.
Iathrim – “(All The) People of the Fenced Land”, i.e. folk of Doriath
Cyrnanor – “Sun-rounds”, years. Singular would be coranor
Helvui – “Fluffy”, Thranduil’s toy rabbit
Laes-nin “my baby”, Oropher’s most common endearment for Thranduil
Anor – Sun
Ada – “Papa/Daddy”
“Arin Etarácië”, (Quenya) “Morning Hath Broken”
And today the kittens have started using the litterbox. They've also stopped avoiding the door, which means I had to chase down Kid Blink and return her to her room. But she's definitely getting more used to humans - catching her was trivially easy.
Her dad has been caught. It must've happened in the morning, because as recently as late last night, when Michele dropped me off, there were cops peering in the car windows.
Conversation from the hospital:
Me: Oh, hey, Mommy, did you speak to your brother yet?
Mom: Yeah, I called him last week.
Me: Okay, but do you think you should call him soon?
Mom: I was going to call him Saturday. That's his birthday.
Michele: Oh, wonderful! "Hi, happy birthday, and by the way...!"
Mom: Oh, it's a minor stroke!
Michele: "Good news, bro, I had a stroke of luck!"
However, I cleave to my belief that Colin Is Best, and I would like to present to you two very different little bits of evidence that have been added to my Colin Is Awesome pile:
- My friend Andrew has been doing reviews and analysis of Colin's first season on the show, and in this piece he explains, in quite some detail, why one of the worst Who stories ever showcases exactly how brilliant Colin is in the role.
- Colin's incredibly robust reactions to the casting of Jodie Whittaker, even to the extent of retooling his own iconic regeneration line and becoming mildly impolite to a fellow former Doctor, has been a joy for me to behold. Colin has always been a Who fanboy, as well as a Doctor, and this response from him was just magnificent.
* for various demographic reasons, the cohort for whom Colin is Our Doctor is smaller than that for almost any other Doctor. If you want more on the maths of this, Andrew goes into it here.
We saw Wonder Woman yesterday. I cried through the whole thing. A little pleased with myself for remaining completely unspoiled except for no cats on Themyscira. I was rigorous about not clicking on a single link or cut tag and my flist is so thoughtful about using cuts, thank you! Gal Gadot is beyond glorious. This movie needs a Best Picture Oscar nomination. Etta reminds me of lorie945. I actually finally have a superhero movie I love :-)
H and I are leaving for the beach in a couple hours, I just got new tires put on the front so Catbus is good to go.
I was sitting in the Les Schwab tire store when I saw the news on tv about that asshole Spicer resigning. I had no self control, I just burst into loud guffaws and couldn't stop for about five minutes.
Yesterday morning Harry tried to pee on some clothes in hanarobi's room. I thwarted him and he ran outside. I followed him to watch him pee in the dirt and spend about five minutes ostentatiously covering it up with a pile of leaves.
Summary: Two late-comers to Cormallen are nervous about meeting the Ring-bearers. In the process of getting to know them, they learn a great deal about hobbits... and their new king. Characters include Aragorn, Pippin, Frodo, Merry, Sam, and Gimli.

Now we have to sort out her teeth...
Daughter has been really excellent recently, alternately cajoling me into doing self care ("come on mummy, lets go to the gym, it's good for both of us" "Lets take the doggies for a walk, clear our heads") and baking cakes for me to eat. She's getting REALLY good at baking.
Pretty much everything else is still stressful or infuriating or depressing, but I'm not dead. And tomorrow we go to That London for a couple of days to see the wimmins krikkit world cup final, so hopefully running away for a bit will help.
